Well I would choose any of them but I'll go for LAD. Why you ask? The catchphrase. I needn't give a clue to what it is [!--emo&-_---][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/sleep.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'sleep.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Rock in rio

i have the cd and the dvd and they are both brillent.
the songs on there are better than the studio versions which makes any band who can do that dam good

Look, Ascendancy, this is all history now. Don't stir it, please.

rir, simply because it was the first live maiden album i bought, and i can sing/talk along to everything bruce says...

the production etc. is ace too!

Beast over Hammersmith should have been released twenty years earlier if it weren't for the problems they had with it. great mix of songs from the first three albums, the maiden of that period had a more aggressive sound, basically cos' Clive Burr could drive the band better than nicko, the only drawback is Bruce, Although i love Bruce singing, His voice doesn't suit the di'anno era songs. Bruce's voice is too polished and not raw enough.

Live After Death is my favorite live album. Every song sounds great, and my favorite is Rime of the Ancient Mariner. I really love the rant right before Rime of the Ancient Mariner. I used to not know what it meant, but I read Rime of the Ancient Mariner (the poem) in my English Literature and Composition class, and the rant makes perfect sense now.

Rock in Rio gets my vote in this, just ahead of Live After Death, for the following reasons:

1. Bruce's vocals are far better than on LAD
2. It has Fear of the Dark, Sign of the Cross and The Clansman
3. The crowd actually sings along, unlike LAD

Although I would replace either The Mercenary or Blood Brothers with Out of the Silent Planet.

Best things about LAD
1. That intro. Enough said
2. Setlist, amazing
3. Phantom of the Opera and Running Free (the interaction)

I actually think the interaction is the worst thing about LAD. Running Free lasts 9 minutes and most of that is Bruce saying thingd like "Make some noise left side". I do prefer LAD however as I like the corwd noise to be low. I think RiR is spoiled a bit because of the production, the crowd drowns out some of the music, the bass in particular [!--emo&-_---][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/sleep.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'sleep.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Live after Death
Contains all of Maidens best songs, however although its still my fave I wish SiT could have been produced a year earlier so my favorite album could be included on this live masterpeice.

Live After Death. Most of the tracks were played as good if not better than the studio album versions. Then of course we have Rime of the Ancient Mariner and Phantom Of The Opera, which were two excellent performances. Live After Death has something special to it that the other live recordings don't have. Like a certain energy that gives you that constant adrenalin rush.

Rock In Rio is outstanding, their performance as fantastic.....and the crowd are a bit loud...2 minutes to Midnight, the Clansman and The Evil that men do are my fave live songs off any album. And this is the best I have ever heared Bruce sing.

I love Life After Death...but some songs dont sound as good to me as the studio versions...the ballady bits of Revalations Bruce seems to go a bit mad on...and that spoils it a bit...

I'd really like to get Maiden England, cos what I have heard is awsome...

Death On the Road is very similar to Rock In rio...but not quite as good in my opinion.

Beast Over Hammersmith I like a lot, its nice to hear the old songs live...especially Murders on The Rue Morgue....but the performance isnt as exceptional as the later albums...

Rock In Rio. [img src=\"style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":D\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /]

The best Maiden live album is still Live After Death for me... the whole vibe is just magic, it is Maiden at their height in the 80s and the setlist includes some gems.

My second favourite is constantly changing, at the moment it probably is Rock in Rio. Recently I watched the DVD again and I (once again) realized how much the songs from Brave New World kick ass.

Best production:
1. Live After Death
2. Death On The Road
3. Rock In Rio
4. Beast Over Hammersmith
5. Maiden England
6. Live At Donington
7. A Real Live Dead One

Best setlist:

4. Death On The Road

7. Live At Donington

I really enjoyed LIVE AFTER DEATH, was the first I'd ever heard MAIDEN, so thats why it's da bomb.

Went down the gutter, mostly because it was pretty much the same as the Best Cover Art thread.

RiR for me, Arthur's Farewell straight into the Wicker Man is awesome [img src=\"style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":)\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" /]

Beast Over Hammersmith. Fantastic performance, maybe Dickinson's best as far as official releases are concerned. Clive is the perfect live drummer, very tight and powerful. The setlist is great.
