Coronavirus

Perhaps they will also test the over 70s too or Charlie has other health conditions that means he qualifies for testing. Or he might have just used his royal prerogative.

According to the BBC Tweet that I included in my message, the NHS Scotland website states that, generally, testing for Covid-19 will only be carried out “if you have a serious illness that requires admission to hospital”. Read into that what you want. ;)

A little bit more about our preparations for those who are interested in politics etc.

In the first days after the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic in Poland, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Minister of Health Łukasz Szumowski agreed that if there were deficiencies in any hospital, they would soon be supplemented by the Material Reserves Agency. On March 2, Prime Minister Morawiecki announced that there was no need for additional purchases. However, the hospitals alarmed that, contrary to the assurances of the Minister of Health, they did not even have basic protective equipment. On March 4, the prime minister announced the allocation of an additional PLN 100 million for purchases to the Material Reserves Agency, although he said earlier that two months earlier Poland had started preparations to repel the coronavirus epidemic.

What has the Material Reserve Agency been doing lately? Everything indicates that it bought coal.

The auction for coal dust A and II A with a storage option was launched in October. Size and price remain a mystery. However, according to our informers, the second wave of buying started in February 2020. Then, on February 17, miners began to protest, demanding a raise (in Poland miners not only get a normal salary but the government pays them 13th and 14th salary from the budget) and the purchase of coal lying in the heaps. Due to the warm winter (according to the High Voltage portal) about 14 million tons were found on the heaps.

This year's Agency budget shows quite characteristic anomalies. During the PiS (the ruling party in Poland), employment increased (from 655 people in 2015 to 710 people in 2020). And salary costs went up by as much as PLN 15 million. The agency's reserves increased sharply - to PLN 3.8 billion (from 1.9 billion in 2015), but reserves increased only by PLN 200 thousand. The strategic reserves include medical equipment, clothing, medicines. In 2020, the Material Reserves Agency is full of inventory, while spending on purchases in 2020 is planned at only PLN 46.6 million (with ARM 30 million debts). This meant that the government of Mateusz Morawiecki practically deprived the agency of funds for purchases.

Only after the outbreak of the epidemic, the Agency's financial plan was changed twice by the parliamentary finance commission: March 4 and 9. At the first meeting, the subsidy from the state budget was increased by PLN 100 million, at the second meeting by PLN 250 million.

At the same time, companies are closing, salaries are lowered, and since today all gatherings of more than 2 people are banned but they still want to have election day on 10th of May because social programs are still in place and voters of PiS are getting more money and help for being unemployed and with kids than people who are working (my friend is unmarried, has three kids, never worked a day in her life and she gets same money the manager in a medium-sized company). Soon people who are working will be earning LESS than those who are unemployed.

The only casualty in Croatia so far, might've just been removed from the official list, statistically putting us to zero deaths. Although positive the doctors say virus wasn't the cause of his death.

That is why it is not easy to compare figures from different countries. The number of deaths in Italy refers to patients with coronavirus; some of them died from it, some others died with it.

He'll pass it on to the Queen.

She will hold out one day longer than him, just so he won't sit on the throne.
So, with Harry’s deroyalization, what would happen if the full firstborn line croaked, including all of William’s children? Would it be Queen Anne after the gender-neutral succession change a few years back, or would it be (horrors) King Andrew?

Megxit doesn't impact the order of succession.

My prediction is he'll be fine - he's much too stubborn to succumb to something like this. He's a tough old nut, is Prince Charles.

I think the Queen would probably survive it tolerably well too. The Duke of Edinburgh might not though ... :(
