Manfred Mann's Earth Band exits the game with a record of 23-21 (.523) and 1 song eliminated.

Take a look at some of these giants getting kicked out. I'm glad Sweet Child won, but... Spirit of Radio, out. Sunshine, out. Over The Hills and Far Away, out?!?!

It's that part of the game where every track is actually great. I'm glad to see the love for Allman Brothers Band Jessica...Not the type of crowd here on Maidenfans usually for that kinda stuff..so I'm pleasantly surprised. Sunshine is out - but look which song it lost to...

The song Aqualung, not a hit on American radio?
By the way, I cannot recommend highly enough the recent hi-rez remaster of Aqualung. Remixed and remastered (or, really, un-mastered, as it's just a flat transfer of the master tape) by Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree). It's available on HDTracks and Pono for around $15. Awesome. Best sounding version of this album I've ever heard in any format, and it's one of my favorite albums, so I have several versions. For those who want to know what Iron Maiden should have done with its hi-res digital downloads: it's this.

That's the 40th (wow) Anniversary of Aqualung album mix you mean right?

Yes, it is the same mix, but without the Peter Mew CD mastering effects. This new version sounds even better. A number of audiophiles complained that the 40th anniversary (2011) disc had been "Mew-tilated" due to peak limiting and questionable EQ choices. I actually thought the 40th anniversary CD sounded very very good, and was happy with it, but hearing this new 2015 version, you can really tell the difference. It sounds less like a digital recording and more like a live performance, with the band in the room with you. That's the goal of any great sound recording. Major "wow" factor.

It depends on how we define diverse approach. I see what you mean SMX when you talk about your choice for more diverse (American) sources.

To hark back on this for a moment, I think that it's difficult to find non-American sources for a game like this, because Classic Rock is a predominantly American concept. Sure, there is some classic rock radio here and there in Europe, and a few compilations and events appear every once in a while, but it's nowhere near as visible or audible as in the US and Canada. So in that sense, a selection of sources must necessarily have a very strong American bias. I would even go as far as saying that classic rock is one major difference between American and (at least continental) European music culture.

The Clash exits the game with a record of 80-65 (.552) and 4 songs eliminated.
Pearl Jam exits the game with a record of 81-67 (.547) and 5 songs eliminated.
Eric Clapton exits the game with a record of 43-73 (.371) and 5 songs eliminated.

Actually, Clapton is still in the game, under the name Derek. "Layla" is still alive. Also, when I said yesterday that Bowie was out, I forgot: "Under Pressure" is still alive. (That song gets counted as a Queen song in my data.)
