Classic Rock 512 Final Countdown: the best and worst of Classic Rock according to Maidenfans
The results will be posted in chunks of 16 songs at a time, from the bottom of the rankings upward.
Rankings are determined as follows...
1. Ranked by phase of elimination. The bottom half is all the songs that lost in the first round, etc.
2. Ranked by % of votes for/against.
Tiebreakers:
1. Most votes for. 6-3 beats 4-2.
2. Fewest votes against. 0-14 beats 0-17.
3. Age. Oldest song wins, having stood the test of time longer.
Songs 497-512:
Aerosmith was this biggest loser in this group, followed by Bruce and the Eagles. As I get more results posted, you'll see this is a pattern. None of those bands did well; Bruce and the Eagles are probably, overall, the biggest losers in the game. Maidenfans doesn't like them at all, it seems....
Three songs within ten ranks of their seed. I'm happy to see a few of those; at least my original seeding wasn't totally insane. (So far. There are 496 songs left to go.)
I'd love to pick a song out here to say "you guys were crazy to kill it so early", but it's tough. The best here IMO is "Can't Get Enough"; I've played it in bars, loads of fun, but I can't say it deserved to make the top 256.

The second time we see Steely Dan and Billy Joel appear towards the bottom, and the first Doobies song. Three more bands that Maidenfans didn't like.
"Give A Little Bit" is a great song. I've always wished I could write a song like that. Pretty sure I was the one vote for that one... y'all crazy! (Or maybe not. The competition was "Billie Jean".)
And we see good ol' Johnny Cougar take his first two gut-punches. A great 80s icon, and two great songs I've had fun covering. Hell, my "Pink Houses" is a personal specialty.
