I hope his son doesn't play a huge role. I can not believe he has better songwriting skills than the experienced musicians and producers in Bruces band.

If Bruce thinks his son's songwriting skills are great, then who are we to doubt he is right?

The same applies to Steve's thoughts about Lauren Harris or The Raven Age being musicians worthy of supporting Maiden.

I came across this video of Philip playing original music recently. I must say, I really like this short instrumental. Very heavy riffs (like TCW), a cool solo (a bit of a Roy vibe) and a golden melody (pure Maiden or Bruce solo). Love it. Use them for the songwriting, Philip. I wonder if he or Chris will co-write more songs. Exactly the style the fans want from Bruce solo. :ok: He uploaded 2 more such videos of short original instrumentals and they are also pretty good. He is a heavy riffer! @Azas , you should dig them, brother. ;)

Btw, it's produced by Brendan and sounds better than TMP, methinks. Clean modern production (the drums too, right).

At the beginning of the video, I inexplicably hear Slayer’s South of Heaven. Is he paraphrasing it, doing a little cover, or does it just sound similar? Later in the song, I completely agree—it fits Bruce’s solo style very well. The section starting at 1:20 is pure melodic greatness. Maybe we’re in for a truly great album?

It does sound very similar.

I'm excited for the next album. Should be quite a fresh take on things if they are all writing and performing live in the studio

The Chemical Wedding is one of my desert island discs, and it would be nice to see Bruce doing something as good again. Here's hoping the next solo album is a return to form! :edmetal:

One of the best 100 metal albums in history and maybe onr of the best 50 too. And i saw him performing this tour in a small venue for 800 people!

I sadly missed the Madrid gig as I had an exam at Uni the following day (it was on a Sunday if I remember correctly and there was no way for me to go back to where I was living after the gig). The exam got postponed and I am still regretting not going to the concert!

Fortunately, I got to see Bruce, Adrian, Roy Z, Eddie and Dave the year before on the Accident of Birth tour at the Rock in Madrid festival. :edmetal:

I have to admit I like that anthem. It's also a good fit for Bruce, even if his two performances haven't been spotless. There are some passages in the song though that he does really well.

I was there too at la peineta

I think “The Star Spangled Banner” is great, especially because it allows singers to show off a really wide span of their range.
