Yeah, same. The chorus melody is one of those melodies that is always tugging on the nostalgia in my heart. I don’t know how to describe it, maybe it’s a slip between major and minor? STP’s “Interstate Love Song” does the same thing.

Maybe the single will be heavier like Rain style, I just hope it's pure/very heavy and not theatrical (although with the concept of the video; the theme is curious and the video should be cool). But he mentioned filming 4 or 5 videos, so this could be MBTP too?

edit: Tanya says they are filming videos, with her using a new custom bass.

He George Lucas-ed it. It's the 1997 Star Wars Trilogy Special Editions version, only Balls to Picasso instead.

Wasn't altogether happy with how the original turned out, so he tweaked and added bits. In that description, the "he" could be interchanged with either George or Bruce, and the statement would remain 100% accurate.

My guess is that people become addicted to fame and adoration. It must be fun. The love from the fans, the backstage lifestyle, the people you meet, the conversations you have. I doubt he needs the money but maybe as he ages he just wants to be out there as much as possible, the travel, the contact with creatives, the adoration and it makes sense to make the going rate in terms of money.

Personally, if I really wanted all the other things I'd like to think I'd do it for free if I could, but then that maybe makes the other 'celebs' look bad, undercutting your peers so maaaaybe he's looking after the folk that make their living from conventions cos ain't no one interested in anything except the show they did 30yrs ago.

Fuck knows. I just know that I'll never pay any human for an autograph, let alone queue up for it but each to their own.
 
I agree with the thesis about an addiction to fame and adoration, but on the other hand, I also agree about the need to stay busy and keep doing things. To me, Bruce definitely strikes me as the kind of person who couldn't sit on his hands for long doing nothing. So I think it's a combination of things.

I don't think he's actively craving fame and adoration - he's simply used to it (going back to the good old '80s), he knows that environment, and he naturally thrives in it and knows how to operate within it. During the '80s, he was basically trained to live such an active lifestyle through constant touring, etc. And then his personality comes into play: he's more extroverted and feels the urge to do things, to be active and to be more in the spotlight. Those are simply his personality traits.

Look at Dave, for example -he was also touring and living an active life in the '80s, but he's not in the public eye any more than absolutely necessary. He's more laid-back, and after periods of intense activity, he seems to enjoy being left alone with his family and spending time in Hawaii, surrounded by nature, beaches, sunshine, etc.

So Bruce's personality is simply well suited to being a frontman and a creative person. That's my take on it.

If you're fine with that kind of life and you're not fighting it from the inside, living in the public eye must be immensely fun, I guess. I couldn't live such a life myself, though. I think my psyche would go berserk after a while.

Adicted to fame and adoration? LOL.

Ask him to take a photo with him on the street or a public place. Or even calm him by the name,you will see a different face than the 150 $ pics. And its normal. He is doing that because he likes that event. Thats my point. In other cases he would not do that
 
My post was more about his personality, as far as my guess goes... Regarding the money, though, I'm scratching my head over it. Personally, I can't believe he genuinely craves the money. Maybe he simply likes going out and being in the public eye, and he needs to promote his comic books - so basically, he's working to "remind people about himself" and stay visible to his target audience. And the money is just a nice, or not-so-nice, bonus.

Does anyone here have any reliable information on how much celebrities are paid for attending events like these, if they're paid at all?
