I will try my best to be in Tilburg!
Now, for the sound sample, very intriguing. I don't expect him to sound like that much, maybe few animalistic noises here and there, perhaps similarly to Portnoy growling here and there with DT?
With the last two samples (I guess being from the same song), I felt quite the same about Dream Theater sounding parts on the 2nd one, but on the 1st one it's rather Pagan's Mind sounding thing.

I have now tried to join that mail thing on the Mandrake website to get the presale thing tomorrow. But I never get an email from there. Annoying
Yeah, thought it was just mine that did that. At a guess some email services block automated emails better than others

Most of the Download 2024 lineup has just been announced and no Bruce so far. It's still possible. There's a hole in his schedule and not all acts have been announced

This sounds campy and cheesy in the best way. Metal has to stop taking itself too seriously all the time (though the opposite spectrum is all the meme and gimmick power metal bands; that's too much cheese lol)

The problem with the meme/gimmicky bands is that once you get past the gimmick the music isn't any good. It's all designed for shortform content on Instagram/TikTok and not for people who actually enjoy music. But there has always been a bit of tongue and cheek humor in Metal that is comparable to what you see in low budget horror/slasher films, so it seems like a good mix.

Fully agreed. Gloryhammer is one of the few bands I kinda enjoy, because the musicians are actually competent. Most other bands only have the gimmick and no musicality to rely on.

Even stuff like death metal, which at first might seem serious, brutal, evil, whatever, is quite cheesy and intentionally over the top. At least there are a bunch of bands that approach it in that way.

As for the movie, it's probably not going to be a masterpiece, but it sounds like a fun premise.

I really doubt that. I feel that when Maiden slows down (3-5 years from now), we will see a lot more from him if he remains healthy.

We know that Bruce can't sit still plus his commercial flying licence is expired.
Good point! I'm hopeful he still has the same drive at that point to stay as busy as he has been for the last forty-odd years, and hope he does keep making music beyond Maiden. I remember back in the Balls to Picasso days he was asked if his career in metal ever fizzled, he thought he might become a folk singer. B)
How do we know more dates won't be announced? There's still time between the end of July and September.
It's possible more dates might be announced. Guess I've been going by the assumption around here that his solo touring would end in July, and there would be a couple months of downtime/rehearsals before the 2nd leg of Future Past.

Actually, I got some dates mixed up and see as well that there's only a little over a month between Bruce's last show and the start of Maiden's tour so he will definitely need a break. He could do more touring in 2025 though so there's still hope.
