Bruce Dickinson

It is cheesy, I know, but I like how official playlist from spotify is saying "afterglow of ragnarok" with first letters. :-D

very exciting news and seeing Istanbul in the tour dates is unbelievable! but one guitar thing is a let down. he toured with one guitar back in the day with skunkworks and the tattooed millionaire tour but there's no way AoB/CW/ToS songs will work with one guitar. it's like priest's decision to go with one guitar then after the fan reaction they gave up that bad idea...

maybe... he is keeping the Adrian news for the ticket strategy. They will anounce him later and made the second wave or sth.

I just noticed in email - does he plan to play to shows on one day? Mystic Festival in Poland and Sweden Rock Festival?

If somebody asked me, how to promote the first single of your solo career in 18 years, where you are centerpiece and one of the most renowed singers... This is certainly not the way.
I agree. But I think a lot of fans will like this heavy approach to the vocals.

Bruce doesn't need that chorus effect, especially with his voice now. I never thought Bruce would allow such effects on a record. The chorus will be much better without it. It would be like Killing Floor's chorus.
About the teaser of the new single, I find it very bizarre and a little bit too modern for me. I rather like the old heavy Bruce Dickinson style on AOB, TCW and TOS. I even prefer TM, BTP and SW.
I like the modern approach of the song, just not the chorus. It's far cry from melodic. If Eternity Should Fail's chorus slays it. Now that's melodic. I understand he wants something different (probably only for 1 song), but I think this is too different. If this is the post-chorus, then it's different, although I still won't like the effects. It's like Bruce is trying too hard. I agree with your second comment.

So you heard the chorus? Because for all we know this may be just a bridge or some other part.

Agreed. Also, I know it is just a snippet, but the keyboards remind me of cheesy, cheap power metal.
Yeah, the keyboards were very much power metal to my ears and not in a good way. Actually I'm not sure there is a way to resemble power metal in a positive sense but that's another topic entirely.

Also why did they announce the single today, already, on the 6th of November if it's only coming out at the start of December? That's way too early, most people will forget about the whole thing in that time. Even major, big-name acts usually only do a wind-up time measured in a week or two at most. A surprise drop honestly might've been the more effective strategy but that was obviously out the window once the physical version got listed for preorder.

This all sounds like something Devin Townsend would do around 2011.
Well, maybe writing for so many years caught him confused with a lot of themes. The later part of the themes is pure Bruce. Given the pyramid that was in the first teaser, I thought the album will have some ancient or even space theme. I really hoped for that.

I hope it's a bridge, but it sounds like a chorus to me. Whatever it is, I'm not a fan of it.

There could be a second session guitarist added closer to the time. They won't begin rehearsing until next year.

I'll be going to the Sofia date, really looking forward to this tour already.
