Boston, June 26: North America Maidenfans meetup

I am not sure about it, Mosh. Sure there's a big chance but I haven't read anywhere that it will happen. And even if it will happen, I don't think Maiden ever played exactly the same sets when they had such a gap in between their tour(s) (segments). They could also promote their new album in 2013. New album tour is cool but I rather do not miss the Maiden England tour. Perhaps both will happen in 2013. Anything can happen, we'll see.

Are there rumors of a new album coming out then?

The band said several times that the title TFF did not hint as it were their last album. And I can't back it up now but I am pretty sure some band members said they will continue. I am sure they won't only tour the Maiden England and end like that. Also, from the official site:

Comments vocalist Bruce Dickinson, “We have great fun playing the History of Maiden Tours because it gives us an opportunity between new albums to go out and play songs from our earlier catalogue. ...."
--

Now the only thing we do not know, is when it will come out. I still have hopes it's 2013 (instead of 2014).

I think it was Rod Smallwood who said that they won't be available for an album until 2015. I'm pretty sure they are planning on taking the maiden england tour outside the U.S.

Sorry Foro, but it doesn't make sense to limit the history tour which attracts larger crowds and is played in bigger and open venues because it's summer just to North America, which, compared to South America and Europe, is a weaker market for Maiden.

Also, the very last line in the article announcing the tour on the official site, it clearly says: "Rest of world... we'll see you next year!" I really doubt they're thinking of doing a new album between two legs of the tour.

Lastly, check out the touring pattern for TFF world tour (2010/11):

June - August 2010: extensive North American tour + a few European festivals
February - April 2011: extensive tour through Australia and South America + a few Asian countries
May - August 2011: extensive European and UK tour

They might very well do the same again; they'll obviously tour North America during summer 2012; in 2013, they'll (probably) do a Southern hemisphere tour while it's warm down there (February-April, give or take) and then swing up towards Europe and do a summer tour.

I'd be in on this but I don't think I'm allowed to enter the US legally (long story...if I told you I'd have to kill you.)

In all seriousness, I'd love to go (it's only a short flight from Halifax!) but money's a bit tight at the moment.

Tickets arrived today...

I thought today, who's going to moderate the forum during the tour madness while Perun, LooseCannon and I are in Boston? ... Sorry Wasted, have fun. :D

I'm still hoping lightning strikes for Wasted and somehow he makes it.

Then it's all on Shadow.

Hello, all! Brand new to the forum and excited as hell for June 26th. I saw Maiden in 1985 in Providence and, although I've seen tons of shows both before and after (including Floyd in their heyday), I've never seen such a tight, entertaining, passion-filled, kick-ass night of amazing music by talented pros as I did that night. Accept opened up ("Balls to the Wall" was the current single) and Powerslave was the album Maiden was supporting ("World Slavery Tour"). When they played "Hallowed", I knew I was seeing what passed for a God. I cannot wait to return....Cheers.
I was there as well. Accept was touring Metal Heart though, and probably put on one of the best performances by any opener I've ever seen.

I also got my tix in the mail today!

You know what, I may be able to come to this party as well. Is there anyone stateside (Nat/SMX maybe) who can get me a ticket before they sell out and hold it for me until I can definitely go? (fully paid for of course)
I usually spend a chunk of my holidays going to see Maiden, it might just be a bit further this year.
