He was pretty poor singing TRATB at the O2 in 2017. The instrumental on the other hand was one of the best things I have ever seen Maiden do live. It was stunning.
 
A Real Live One. Closely followed by A Real Dead One.

Don't see where all the unlove comes from. It's the rawest and most authentic Maiden live album. They even left several mistakes on it, clearly audible. No fucking overdubs.
Many songs are played faster than on record. Bruce sounds a bit rough, but he hits way more notes than on Live After Death, where his pitch is quite off at times.
Combined setlist on both albums is awesome. Cover artworks are among their greatest.
Best rendition of Fear of the Dark ever.

Guess these albums are unpopular bc they are so rough, but it's a HEAVY METAL band, folks. It is not supposed to be smooth.

Also good: Death on the Road, Rock In Rio.

My fave Maiden era was 1983 - 1993, so albums like Beast Over Hammersmith or En Vivo don't get me excited, despite being well performed.

I really some of the renditions on ARLDO and Donnington. Bruce sounds great on some songs as well. Hallowed on ARLDO slaps as well.

I would take all 3 of those albums over Nights of the Dead.

I rarely listen to these albums because of the setlist. I don't like NPFTD and FOTD songs. They also played Can I play with Madness and HCW, which are my least favourite songs off their respective albums (which are my 2 favourite albums) and many rockers from the first 2 albums. There is no Rime, Powerslave or SSOASS or another epic and also there is no Adrian Smith. I only listen to Prowler and FOTD from these albums.

A real live one: Dissapointing
A real dead one: Dissapointing part 2
Live at Donington: Too fast
Rock in Rio: Great
Beast over Hammersmith: Hidden gem
Death on the road: Underrated
Flight 666: Awesome setlist
En Vivo: Okay
Live chapter: Cool
Nights of the dead: Flat

If only Maiden Japan was released in full, properly mixed by Martin Birch, it would probably be the greatest live album in metal history.

I love Bruce, Nicko and Janick, but there is something completely magical about early maiden in full force. The rawness, uncompromising speed and the groove between Steve and Clive is just about the tightest metal groove ever.
 
I dont dislike NOTD. but yes ive had seen better performances of bruce. At this time they should do like flight 666 pick different cities
 
visually: Live after Death. It's like a movie. I think the only one shot in 35 mm...
setlist-vice: Maiden England 88... has just the perfect balance of the Golden Era.
sound-vice: Rock in Rio. the most modern one.
 
I'm listening to Flight 666 in the car, the last few days and it sounds amazing and the setlist is pretty good. Bruce sounds better than the 80s and I really like Adrian's backing vocals. Rime and Powerslave were better than ever.

So, on the back of the Live At The Rainbow video, it says: "Less than a year ago Iron Maiden were a promising new band playing London's club circuit. They are now a major headline band in two-thirds of the world. This video filmed at the Rainbow, London on December 21st 1980 shows the power, aggression and sheer musical ability that have taken Iron Maiden so far so fast. An Iron Maiden concert is not for the faint hearted, nor is this video... (G.K. 2/2/81)"
I'm probably missing something very obvious but does anyone know who 'G.K.' is? And although it's not an album it might be my favourite Iron Maiden live 'thing', just wish we had the full concert.

Live after death: classic, but I rarely listen. Bruce is quite off at times. It's great as video, though.
A real live one: Awesome. Raw, authentic, good setlist.
A real dead one: same.
Live at Donington: awesome (but redundant if you own Live/Dead)
Rock in Rio: awesome sound and performance, but audible post production and setlist does not get me excited.
Beast over Hammersmith: spans only the first 3 albums, so almost all of my faves are missing.
Death on the road: descent. Setlist is rather boring, with some exceptions.
Flight 666: setlist is so filled with hits that it's almost boring :D. I love the songs and performance, but the sound is a bit flat. Lacks punch, drums are way too low in the mix.
En Vivo: Boring setlist, dead sound. Drums too low, scratchy guitars without bottom end, every classic in this one has already at least one better live version. Many songs from their weakest albums. At least they kept the mistakes in so it's honest.
Live chapter: Never heard it.
Nights of the dead: dito.
