I don't think this is going just on technical skill... I understand if you don't like AC/DC, but if you do I think Angus Young is incredible, and definitely one of the greatest guitarists of all-time, along with his brother. I would say AC/DC is the greatest dual-guitar band of all-time (except Maiden with Dave and H). But thats just me, and everyone has their own opinions.

That may very well be (I'd put Priest ahead of them though. They put their two guitars to more use and pretty much characterizes the Metal twin guitar attack). They are certainly the best selling. Angus Young is perfect for AC/DC, but as a guitarist I find him a snoozefest - And not just because he's very poor from a technical point of view.Jupz said:

I kinda understand were you are coming from, but I still couldn't imagine him below any of these besides Hansen and Iommi, although I've never heard Roland Grapow so I can't vote. I hope his brother can manage to make finals

I wish I could post Hansen's solo in Iron Savior's cover of Neon Knights. (Unfortunately that song isn't on YouTube.)
Apart from that, there's a ton of material out there which can be put to the test. I dislike his unoriginal writings on the last couple of Gamma Ray albums, but his material before that is very powerful.
And as a guitar player, Hansen is very complete. Can play and write strong riffs and melodic lines, can play solos. Most metal guitarists are especially good in one thing. I love Hansen's melodic approach and he also possesses skill, plus he can play well in slow and fast pieces.
Like Hansen (and Sascha Paeth currently), Grapow was the best songwriter and guitarist of Helloween when he was in the band. He is a riff master, and a great solo player as well. E.g. his riffs kill in Push, and his solos are mostly very good. Less variety in his solos than Hansen, and at times you can hear Malmsteen in him, but his forceful attack in his playing really was a good thing for Helloween. And you gotta love his melodic and speedy qualities in The Chance and Someone's Crying.

Not huge bunch of ACDC fans on this board.
I'd take his feel over most of the shredders out there any day.
