BEST BAND EVER: Results!

James LaBrie was definitely great in the 90s but since then he's been generally very average and often poor. I'm a huge Dream Theater fan but I can't bring myself to vote for him as one of the greatest vocalists ever. He shouldn't be in the tournament. However, although I can admit that he's the weak link in Dream Theater it doesn't really bother me that he's not a very good singer as he is the voice of Dream Theater and fits their sound. He sounds like Dream Theater. I think it's important to note that being in a great band doesn't mean he should be considered as one of the greatest vocalists ever. He's a round peg in a round hole, nothing more.

Klaus Meine mumbles his way through songs nowadays and from the Scorpions songs I've listened to he never had an impressive voice. Yet more exposure bias.

Tommy Karevik is far, far better than these two but most of you probably didn't bother to listen to him. Sad!
 
I like Klaus, otherwise I mostly agree with Wiz. Voted for JLB anyway because I’m biased.
 
Tommy’s the best singer of this group technically, but I’m voting for Klaus Meine due to exposure bias, nostalgia bias, and nationality bias. LaBrie is a really bland singer and I can’t even say I’m a fan of his earlier ‘90s performances. Meanwhile, “Wind Of Change” has a beautifully emotive performance from Meine, and he has a really nice, distinctive voice and an accent that helps make him distinctive and doesn’t actually hold him back. Jon Anderson is solid.

I forgot to review the last round, so here it goes.

Pre-injury LaBrie slays this round, but that's such a small portion of his career that Tommy Karevik prevails. Although Tommy is wasting away in Kamelot, but that's another issue... Jon Anderson is nothing special, and Klaus winning is just... Dude was always average and has thick accent. How he won here I'll never understand. Boomer bias, probably.
