Anybody up for a forum collaboration?

The intro is not bad at all but I feel like it could be improved a lot by adding a touch of reverb to the clean guitar, if possible.

Yup, it's just direct line input for Yax to manage in the mix.

When recording my Davey solo (and the harmony section), should I leave it dry as well for Yax or can I use my reverb/delay combination that I've worked so much on? :D

Send one DI only, and the other with your amp modelling and effects, if you can get a DI signal.

I've recorded my lead parts. What remains is rhythm and the middle solo that everyone can try out.

http://www.upload.ee/files/4469141/ALEX_1_DRY.mp3.html The dry version of the harmony section at about 2:48
http://www.upload.ee/files/4469144/ALEX_1_WET.mp3.html The wet version of the harmoy
http://www.upload.ee/files/4469145/ALEX_2_DRY.mp3.html The dry version of the Dave solo
http://www.upload.ee/files/4469147/ALEX_2_WET.mp3.html The wet version of the Dave solo
http://www.upload.ee/files/4469148/ALEX_3_DRY.mp3.html The dry version of the last octave-playing riff
http://www.upload.ee/files/4469149/ALEX_3_WET.mp3.html The wet version of the last riff

I tried to achieve a wet sound that would sound right when added to the drum/bass track. Let me know what you think.

I'm gonna start working on guitar this week! Vocals to come later.

@Zare - which octave do you want at 1:41?

EDIT: I've been practicing the low one since it's basically an extension of the intro lead, but I'll change to the high if you wanna swap.

Sounds great. Nice lead sound. However:

I need to have it synced to the timeline, because if I have a 20-30 guitar files when it comes to mixing I'd have to spend too much time on finding the exact right spot for all clips. And I'd rather not.

So, export all files (in WAV! Not mp3), but all sections on ONE track (and one dry), and start the export from the same place in the timeline where the drums and bass track starts. You don't have to do it now, but when you hand over your completed recordings you will have to do it. :)

And preferably a DI signal too, for the rhytm!

Could someone explain to me the difference between wet and dry...?
Dry is without any effects - No reverb, delay, stereo widening etc. Wet is with your effects.

And DI is the signal coming straight out of your guitar before it reaches an amp/Pod/whatnot. Like if you plug your guitar straight into a sound card (and then maybe run Guitar Rig for an amp modelling while you play). That way I can run it through this (and there are 1000's of profiled amps available to load into the Kemper):

Listen sometime in the end, where the profiling is complete. Near perfect.

No probs, I'll do the high octave.

I'm glad to see everyone recording leads... but shouldn't laying down some rhythm guitars be the priority first?

I'll do it in next few days, don't have much free time at the moment.
