I have already "concluded" that Versus the World is my favourite album, from the first 5 (have already heard Fate of Norns but clearly found the majority of it less captivating than its predecessor; the title track is one of the best Amon Amarth songs I know, though).
I agree.

Fate Of Norns is a great album that has bad luck of being in between three masterpieces (Versus, Oden and Twilight).

The masterpiece that is Versus The World joins the game!

Death In Fire - Ultimate AA headbanger. Doesn't get much better than this when it comes to opening songs. Perfect riffs, awesome solo and just insanely catchy.

For The Stabwounds In Our Backs - Prime example of how much better AA became on this album - constant rhythm changes, much more buildup and again much catchier than the early stuff.

Where Silent Gods Stand Guard - One of the calmer AA songs musically, but lyrically one of the most br00tal. Just read them. The "I am..." part is just bone chilling in every way.

Versus The World - One of the simpler songs on the album... however main riff and the chorus are extremely catchy.

Across The Rainbow Bridge - Probably the most melodic song on the album and also has one of the best riffs on the album @ 2:59.

Down The Slopes Of Death - Good song, but by far the weakest on the album. At least it's the shortest too :)

Thousand Years Of Oppression - Now this song is just unbelievable. Just pure fucking awesomeness in every regard. The opening melody is just out of this world. I heard this song gazillion times and I'm having goosebumps listening to it now. The main windmill-headbang riff kicks in, just holy shit. Also probably the best AA lyrics ever. Definitely the best anti-Christian lyrics in music that don't resort to stupid black metal tropes. Just pure emotion. "Save us, O Lord, from the wrath of the Norsemen" being the best part. Had to think it through a bit, but I think it's my favorite AA song and if anyone votes for it I just won't count the votes.
Just kidding :p
Or am I? :ninja:

Bloodshed - Catchiest AA song. I don't understand why they don't play it live more often. It has a killer opening riff, bit slower but super heavy verses and then the catchiest AA chorus. It's pretty simple but very effective as shown on the live DVD.

...And Soon The World Will Cease To Be - Heaviest AA song. Super intense but also very melodic. And as I said above, shows again how AA finally learned how to write songs that are both catchy and complex and heavy.

So I'm voting to promote 2 songs each from first 3 albums: Friends, AA; Pagan, North Sea; Raven + Slopes.

AA, Pagan Blood, North Sea Storm, I don't care for anything from Crusher now so everything from that, Silent Gods, Slopes of Death

Oh I forgot to mention that there are two bonuses from first 4 albums that aren't in the game, but are worth checking out:

Siegreicher Marsch - German version of Victorious March recorded during Versus The World sessions:

The Eyes Of Horror - Possessed cover from The Crusher sessions:
