Ancient Mariner
Hmmm... I found that very bland and uninteresting. It is much of the same as the first album. I don’t have high hopes for the album if that is the lead single.
Nice stuff!

Every time I hear him sing, I think ‘Oh I’ve heard this song before’.I quite like the Free-meets-Psycho-Motel type of riffing, but I am a fan of 1970s hard rock. The solos are nice too. The only thing I am not sold on is Kotzen's voice, which I find too whiny.

They have been recording the whole spring AFAIK. Adrian spent much more time in LA than usual. That's a perfect summary of the thoughts I had too.
I think many had the impression with Bruce's album that it was finished a bit rushed. Maybe Adrian should have worked on his a bit longer too, let new ideas develop, maybe find new collaborations, etc., etc.
Hmm, now I'm almost wondering what's going on, that they all think they have to release something as quickly as possible, Adrian in the middle of the tour too...
Richie actually co-wrote a Winery Dogs album and wrote and released a 50 song solo album in between. It is four years since the first album. How long would they take to write 10 songs?
Kotzen is an incredibly prolific writer anyway, Adrian used to be back in the day for Maiden.
Agreed. The only thing I am not sold on is Kotzen's voice, which I find too whiny.
They all need a new album to tour. Adrian and Richie's material definitely feels finished. What else do you expect with this style. With metal and especially Bruce's different styles to say it's different. No missing parts. They had 4 years to write. And as Bruce said, Adrian always had riffs and ideas. That's a perfect summary of the thoughts I had too.

Kotzen is a big fan of TNOBT album.
They probably break even. Otherwise the record label won’t give them a budget for a new album. But recording and developing new ideas are different.
I don't have much experience with this, do you think Bruce and Adrian make a lot of money with their solo record + touring?
The candidates for me are: Running, Solar Fire, 'Til Tomorrow and Got A Hold On Me.Running is still their best song IMO.
