AC/DC

The new single ''Shot In The Dark'' is out:

The good old AC/DC :rocker: Typical (good) song for them.

Like it! That rhythm section is the dog’s bollocks, Jonna sounding great and that classic AC/DC guitar sound.

Nice to have them back with a line-up as close as it can be to the one who recorded Back in Black, one of the best hard rock albums of all time.

The album Power Up will be released next month. (it was recorded in 2018)

Track list and album cover:

1.Realize
2.Rejection
3.Shot In The Dark
4.Through The Mists Of Time
5.Kick You When You're Down
6.Witch's Spell
7.Demon Fire
8.Wild Reputation
9.No Man's Land
10.Systems Down
11.Money Shot
12.Code Red

No title track.... the songs #4 and especially #6 and 7 sound like titles for a heavy metal/power metal band.

Knowing the lyrical content of AC/DC songs, the witch's spell would be something that gives you a boner so you can then shoot some demon fire that would take you through the mists of time (to those days when Viagra was not needed).

Well, I guess No Man's Land, Code Red and Systems Down are describing the band's current situation then.

A concept album about troubled sexual life of an aging man and the effect of Viagra it is then... They just fucked up the order of songs.

Wild Reputation
Through The Mists Of Time
Code Red
Realize
Systems Down
Rejection
Kick You When You're Down
No Man's Land
Shot In The Dark
Witch's Spell
Demon Fire
Money Shot

Nice to see AC/DC back with Phil Rudd on drums and, especially, Jonna singing instead of that bloke from Guns N'Roses

Brilliant!!! Never thought of looking at it in that way. Brings up a whole new meaning to those track titles now.

It reminded me to the Flick of the Switch and Fly on the Wall albums. Good!
…and I have to say that Brian Johnson is singing spectacular on this album

Johnson sounds very good and the album is well-produced and quite deep, without having a real high-end track.
Much better than the tepid Rock or Bust

If they had told me 24 years ago, when I went to one of the shows in Madrid that became the No Bull live video, that AC/DC would still be making me happy with new material in 2020, I would have thought they were pulling my leg!

Giving it a listen now, pretty good, Through the Mists of Time is the stand out track so far ( i'm at money shot ) but all tracks are solid.

Re: recent output, I can remember a fair few tracks from Stiff Upper Lip and Black Ice but bar the title track nothing from Rock or Bust

I agree with you regarding Through the Mists of Time. Great song.

Play Ball from Rock or Bust was pretty good, but the album was a bit meh (the same can be said about Black Ice).

On the other hand, Stiff Upper Lip was pretty good and PWR/UP seems to be at that level too.
