I think players who fall that theatrically don't deserve to get a penalty at all, even if there is a slight contact. Rules are rules and all that, but I have no sympathy with the striker in such situations.

Also: Messi quite invisible today, and it's easy to say that of the two great ones, Ronaldo has had a massively better start to the tournament. But I think that just as much as showing one being better than the other, it shows that Argentina's game plan does not work. A lot of the time, everything has to go through Messi - and it allows Iceland to concentrate two or three players around him at all times. Even for world class players, it's hard to shine under such circumstances. Portugal yesterday knew how to use Ronaldo's strengths - and they tried to exploit the areas freed up when Spain committed players to stop Ronaldo.
 
A draw with a team that should be as outclassed as Iceland certainly bodes poorly for Argentina's "all Messi, all the time" strategy.

Single-handedly dragged Argentina to the World Cup. They were atrocious in the qualifiers, Messi saved their asses in the last match by scoring a hat-trick.

He also single-handedly got them out of the Group Stage in the previous World Cup.
