18th Studio Album discussion

I think this is a fair point. Take those 2yrs out of it and assume they are gonna record next year then they are followin the basic pattern over the last 20yrs.

Re Davey, I really want a career defining banger from him, I love his input. When it's good. Breeg, Thin Line, BNW, delicious stuff. But when it's not to my liking its usually the worst song on the album. I'm lookin at you Nomad, Age of Innocence, Man of Sorrows.

Re some point some guy made about stopping after LOTB 2019, pffffft, good lord, man, such poppycock. It was a career highlight fo sho but I've very much enjoyed the subsequent tours. Hell on Earth, Alexander, Caught Somewhere in Time, Rime, Killers, 7th Son, tip top capers from East Londons finest. We've had lots of Maiden and honestly, I'd trade it all for a little more.

Although that explosive plunger on Run to the Hills on the Legacy tour was frankly embarrassing. I could do without that kinda shit ever again.
I think steve words its like first the tour then we will see. I dont see them touring like 6 or 7 year 2 or 3 tours only with historic or hits or not hits but old songs tour. I dont see that.

While the decision not to tour in 2027 is extremely surprising given that they already missed 2020 and 2021, it couldn´t be more plainly obvious that they dedicate some part of the year to making the 18th and most likely final album. It´ll be probably out early 2028 and tour starts the same spring.
I dont see them after touring future past tour run for your lives tour tour another hits or deep cuts without new music

Steve Harris is saying '" i dont have time " for a new Maiden record ...okayy... I lived enough to see this ....And for what exactly you have time Mr Harris ??? F***ing British Lion ???? Or another cabaret tour playing Again the same old songs ?? I really dont like steve harris anymore...he s a changed man from 2012 and getting worse day by day
You get he doesn't exist to please you, right? I mean, maybe you could look at it a different way, that perhaps Steve has earned the right to do whatever he wants after all these years.

I can't believe I'm lucky enough to still have Maiden in my life at all after all these years. Maybe try a healthier outlook?

This is a great take on it and i feel the same about it in 2025.

Maiden & Rod have nothing to prove to anyone anymore even if there will always be people online who know best.

They have done it all and set the bar so high as the best Metal band ever that if they record or not or tour what ever they want it`s their call. If you like it buy it or go watch and if you don`t like it stay home.

But they have always be like that, even in the 80s. So, no one who is serious don't tell they have sold out to be trendy, public pleasing sunny boys as many others bands were or are.

Maiden do not owe us any new albums and, as you say, they have earned the right to do whatever they want (and we can always decide to either embrace it or not).

While I can see the point of the "you're an entitled fan, they don't owe us another album" angle, I also think it is a bit simplistic and dismissive.

None of us here are friends or family with Steve and the boys (as far as I know lol). Every single one of us is here because we enjoy consuming the art Maiden has produced over the years. Music is art, but it's also a product. While it is true that they don't owe us another album, it is fair for fans to ask for more music. It's what we're here for after all.

Now, if someone goes and harasses any of the band members, that's obviously not okay and should be called out. But posting on a fan board that we'd like them to write more music should be fair game, no? Steve can give his explanations and reasons for why he's not actively planing writing for a new album (if we take every word as gospel and ignore the possibilities of NDAs for example) and the fans can scrutinize those reasons if they want. Because these fans are also consumers.
