But these are quite possibly small details. 'I dunno (...)' may be result of uncertainty about available time. and noise... well, this is something quite subjective and leaves a lot of room for interpretation. Maybe he hates the idea, or maybe he had a bad day or didn't drink his morning coffee. Who knows. I would not make any assumption because British Old Man (R) made grumbling noise :-D

'maybe' instead of 'should' is, in my opinion, also nothing - just way he said that.

In my mind - situation is simple - Bruce is open to the idea and is testing waters with band, Steve need some time to come up with ideas and he is not sure that he has time. 2027 may help him with that so subject of another maiden album is for certain open and quite possible.

I totally agree. I know Maiden's Steve's baby, but if he's not feeling up to it creatively or doesn't want the stress, I don't see the problem with letting the others do the heavy lifting on a new album. Bruce and Adrain could easily come up with some great collabs, and Janick's a great songwriter as well. Who knows if Dave'll chime in with any input, since he's never been terribly prolific in the band's catalogue.

Those three write a bunch of songs, Steve no doubt would be able to jump on and expand on their ideas without so much stress, and maybe get inspired enough to knock out a solo credit or two. I don't know why Steve thinks it's all on him, other than, like I said, Maiden being Steve's baby and he might be a bit of a control freak.

That's how I'd like to see it turn out, rather than no album at all, at least. Hell, that way we might actually get an album with a bunch of shorter bangers, too.

Every band of a certain age starts to say they'll bring out EPs or a handful of singles etc. Just do an album or to be honest don't bother. It's the format fans are used to and where Maiden shine. I'd not be happy with a video for a year

That’s the worry … wish they hadn’t already left it so long. Steve’s literally gone from his early 60s with Senjutsu to 70 when they get round to the next one.
 
Steve Harris is saying '" i dont have time " for a new Maiden record ...okayy... I lived enough to see this ....And for what exactly you have time Mr Harris ??? F***ing British Lion ???? Or another cabaret tour playing Again the same old songs ?? I really dont like steve harris anymore...he s a changed man from 2012 and getting worse day by day

Entitlement is strong in this one.

Steve next year will be 70. I didn't know that he's obliged to make album until death? If he want to rest - he fully deserves that & he has full right to put whatever time he has left into things that make him happy. If that is British Lion - good for him.
 
In Steve's head, a new album is like a 3 year project with writing, recording, release, promotion and then, as there's always been in the past, touring. A break for 2027 doesn't fit that kind of schedule. So of course there's hesitation here, unless he is willing to break himself free from his normal path and just "record some songs with the boys". I believe it's hard making those statements now going forward.

Of course not. I would agree with you if he wasn't involved with eeeverything except maiden .
 
And of course im grateful otherwise i wont be spending my time around here.im a fan since 1984 . But maiden nowdays are....i dont know . Different from what i loved back in the day. Oh and i didnt call anyone a bastard .;)

That ia true. I hope that theyll do another album but if not there is 17 records? And they can relase live albums of previus tours
 
Given the band plan in advance, I don't see a scenario in which they have already decided that Senjutsu was the last album. If they had, there would be a more definitive answer and even though he has a tendency to let his mouth run away with itself (understatement of the century), I also think that Bruce wouldn't even be raising the topic. Which leaves two options; either they have plans to record a new one and they are obfuscating as usual, or they genuinely haven't planned out beyond 2027 and that is indeed just a year off.

Either way, neither or those are the worst case scenario, and the Metal Hammer piece should be taken with an extremely liberal pinch of salt. They’ve rarely been candid about future plans unless in an attempt to drive sales, either by saying ‘come and see this tour as it’ll end this year’ or by suggesting their latest release might be their last, as happened from 2003-2010.

Overall, an 18th album still seems the most likely route, but that doesn’t in any way mean it’ll come quickly, and it’s entirely possible 2028 features live shows not linked to one.

I hope you're right. This was Steve's answer in March this year: ''We are not sure. We don't know, do you? We haven't really planned a new album yet. But we still have a lot of tour going so idk Let's see. I get ideas all the time. I guess I'm lucky you know, I have so many ideas I don't know if I could implement them all in my life, which is a good problem to have. But let's see anyway''.

So he has the ideas.

Since the Reunion, Steve likes to be involved/and shown in almost all songs. We need him to be infront in a new album, despite the songs being shorter or not, but not for Bruce/Adrian songs though. The others can write shorter songs, but he could expand it.

This is not Maiden's thing at all, and it is not good imo. I think they are planning the new live concert to be the main thing for 2027.

Ok, but he always says he likes challenges. And with so many ideas, he probably wants to release them, with BL is different.

True, but they can do a 1-year tour again, right. Or what? Playing the same 80's songs again and again? Part 2 of the current tour is always an option, but missing a whole year is not convenient for everything. 2028-2030 could be 1 tour or 2 different tours, if one is shorter.

I think so too, or rather I hope so, but for him both experiences are probably quite different, especially the tension. I can't accept his excuse about time, more like desire. It's different now, but I would have said the same thing in 2012.

Good call about Bruce's comment. But if not a new album by 2028 at the latest, I'm not sure. They have habits, although a whole year off isn't one of them.
 
I am optimist and think that they will record new album in 2027. From there it can go two ways. Either release new album in spring 2028 and tour with it in summer and autumn and 2029.
Or what I think is more likely - tour 2028 summer with songs from BNW to Senjutsu (RFYL part ll) and one song from new album (+couple of classics) with release of new album in fall 2028. And then tour new album 2029-2930. That's usually what they have done and would have done with Senjutsu if Covid hadn't change their plans - one new song for LotB third leg with autumn release.
At least that is what I'm hoping for. Would really love to see Brave New World and Dance of Death live one day.
