"Iron Maiden are entering the Hall of Fame after three nominations. “We’d like to thank the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for including us (and former members who were all part of our story) in the 2026 roll call of inductees,” Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood said in a statement. “Iron Maiden have always been about our relationship with our fans above anything else, including awards and industry accolades. However, having said that, it’s always nice to be recognised and honoured for any achievements within the music industry too!”

Does this mean Bruce will go back on his word of not wanting to be seen dead in the place, and they turn up to perform after all? They are listed as one of the live performers lol

What that actually means is they were inducted in the Performer Category, meaning they were voted in. Unlike Priest who went in under the Musical Excellence Category, meaning they were selected by a small committee.
 
As Bruce likes to put it, it surely is complete bollocks but interesting nonetheless. As already said, they are inducted in the Performers category which is voted among 1200+ individuals. The fan vote only represents one ballot. I don't know if that makes a difference for the band and how they feel about it, winning by the popular vote rather than what a small jury thinks. Since they probably have no desire to be at the event, regardless of scheduling conflicts, I'm still guessing they will approach it with a little less hostility when it's mentioned from now on.

Have they win? We will see them there? So they will play 2 or 3 songs and Blaze will be there to sing with them i guess? Im sure steve will control bruce to not start bashing the whole ceremony lol

It should be noted that on November 14 IRON MAIDEN will be in the middle of an Australian tour, with dates booked for November 13 in Melbourne and November 15 in Sydney.
 
Hey, they did it. Any recognition is nice. I think Nicko could accept it, the band recording a thank you video with Bruce would be wow....
the best of all would be Bruce and Blaze to perform together, but it's certain that the band won't change their schedule or play.

Plenty of time between Melbourne and Sydney to go for a short detour to LA with the screen saver background on a USB stick! If it's too tight to rehearse, they can even "re-imagine" the infamous 1986 German TV-performance of Wasted Years!

I think one option is that they play a few songs on soundcheck that day, record it and send it over so they can publish a performance of the band, plus a thank you speech.
