Iron Maiden - inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame

I think the statement from Rod on their official website was class. No need to go all nuclear like John Lydon. The band will be in Australia at the time of the induction ceremony so they won't even be there.

I know many here don't give a shit about the RnR HoF and I have issues with it as well. But I will say this. As a fan from the USA I am glad to see that they are finally inducted, voted in no less. I view it as validation for a band that should have received and deserved a lot more credit/attention here in the States.

The statement from Rod (notice how none of the band members gave a comment?) never mentioned that they are honored to be there lol. They absolutely won't show but I hope Nicko, Blaze, or Stratton show up, or at least one of them. In any case I am happy for Blaze and Stratton, this means a lot to them (unlike the rest band members) I am sure.

You do realise all those quotes from Steve and Bruce on other press releases are written by Rod, don't you?

So now the intriguing bit is whether or not anyone turns up. Video message from Australia? Maybe just Rod and Eddie. Or does Nicko alone turn up? Nicko, Blaze, Stratton together? Or someone like Andy Taylor. Or, do they show their scorn by havin someone competely outside the band to collect on their behalf, like Lars or Lady Gaga.

Or nothing at all. No one goes, no message. Has that been done before?
