What do you think is Maiden's most aggressive/energetic song?

Satellite 15 if I had to speak literally. It feels like very energetic doom metal experiment. I'd be interested in seeing more experiments like it.

    Nonsensical Maiden Lyrics

Eh, I can see this one, the "propaganda machine" being the men recruited through German propaganda in obscene numbers. Maybe not historically accurate, but sensible nonetheless. And you can't really get mad at any of the lyrics in Quest For Fire. It's clearly intended to be campy and comic...

Things about Iron Maiden that annoy you

I never noticed that many production issues regarding AMOLAD, but that's probably because I don't have much of an ear for that. DoD's production issues seemed a lot more glaring with how crowded and indistinct every instrument sounds. I also find it weird how he calls AMOLAD the band's...

    Joy Division+New Order

New Order is generally more poppy and electronic than JD, but certainly still good. I've met many people who prefer NO to JD. It all depends on what you want out of your post-punk.

    Queensryche & Geoff Tate

Sorry if this has been discussed earlier in the thread, but how was the new Todd La Torre Queensryche album? From what I've heard from other people, it's a good album hindered by some awful production.

Choruses that are just the song title repeated over and over. Granted, some of my favorite IM tracks do this (Brave New World, Out of the Silent Planet), but it can feel grating and kinda lazy at times. Although the tracks that do this typically aren't the worst in their catalog.

    Orchestra in Dance of Death?

Thanks a lot for the research! I just looked back at the DoD Wikipedia page, and it credits Harris on keyboard and co-producer (honestly surprised I didn't think of keyboard as an option beforehand). Safe to conclude that's it's either him or Bova, but most likely the former. It's great to get...

    Orchestra in Dance of Death?

One part of DoD that always intrigued me was the progressive orchestral tone many of the tracks seem to have. It's most notable in Face in the Sand and Journeyman to my ears - they sound as if they have violin-family strings providing the backing harmonies. Pardon my ignorance - I'm not very...
