Gun to the head I'd say cold, but I like things about in the middle. Warm with a breeze usually is my favorite.

I've never experienced this in my life. Have been outside at -30C before, but I never felt unbearably cold.

Depends on the wind. Strong wind and sub-zero temperature and you're fucked.
Besides I don't consider being hermetically sealed inside three layers of your own clothing anything more than basic survival. Can you do anything outside when these colds hit?
With heats you can. Play ball outside on 40(C). Just keep plenty of water around. I know that different people have different preferences but I will never wrap my head around the idea that lack of energy is more comfortable than abundance of energy. Now there are molecule-ripping energy levels out there in the nature, but I don't spend my summers in a volcano....

What do you want to do? Play hockey? Ski? Skate? Do you want to build a building? Do you want to service an airplane? I mean, it hits -30 regularly in Ottawa in January and February, and our city of 1.2 million people still functions.

Yeah but it doesn't take -30 C for me to feel cold. I can feel cold at normal room temperature. Has more to do with crappy circulation than anything, I assume, and probably not enough physical activity.
