Aftermath:

BELPHEGOR FORCED TO CANCEL RUSSIAN DATES!!!

After a great tour kickoff in Minsk, Belarus [18th April], BELPHEGOR dealt with heavy opposition and censorship within Russia resulting in three shows being cancelled. We apologize to Russian supporters. The troop tried everything to secure the shows. The St. Petersburg concert was canceled just a few hours before BELPHEGOR was scheduled to enter the stage on the 19th of April. We arrived in Moscow hoping for the best on the 20th. We were ordered to remove the already hanging backdrop, then told that stage props such as sculptures and crosses were forbidden, and Helmuth was not allowed to do vocals for the track "Lucifer Incestus". During the second track, the sound engineer had been forced to mute the vocals for the rest of the show because of our lyrical content. We were outraged by the entire experience. Afterward, we were informed that we would be unable to play in Ekaterinburg [21st April] and Krasnodar [23rd April].

Helmuth adds: "We've toured Russia three times since 2006 and always had amazing experiences. We've ignored all protests including death threats during the past few weeks. I was aware many black and death metal bands were having trouble recently, but we still marched in. To people who think they know everything: When that waste of oxygen approached us at the airport on the 19th, he had a hand in his pocket. I expected him to have a weapon. If I had hit him, I would have been thrown in jail, and he would have ended up in the hospital. That was their plan; he had that other degenerate filming the entire thing. Special thanks to brother Mr. Karl Sanders, who had the courage to block him as he continued to harass me. I'm a musician, not a fighter, especially in Russia. I've survived Typhus and have already been dead for six hours, hanging on only by machines followed by open-heart surgery. I do not fear anyone other than myself. No excuses to anyone!! End of story. It is of the utmost importance that artists have freedom of expression. Throughout history religions and governments have and continue to censor creative works all around the world. Thank you very much to all metalheads who loyally stand behind us and fight against oppressors and hypocritical moralizers. Russian supporters, be prepared!! BELPHEGOR are unstoppable and will return."

"Freedom of expression vs. Negative influence on people" is the line that's been drawn. Some bands do go over that line and I can think of a few that as good as their music is, the message is too negative or dark to want to be a part of. A gimmick is one thing. Spreading a message of hate is another. I think some of these bands forget that the world is not the US of A where freedom of speech is in the Constitution.

GERMANIC ART CAMPAIGN

Vandals spray on club house

LIPPE - Unknowns have sprayed paint on the club house "Am Eggstadion" owned by the tennis club Blau-Weiss in Horn-Bad Meinberg near the Teutoburg Forest between Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. Among other things, they sprayed the name "Shirley" on a wall. The damage amounts to about 500 Euros. According to the Lippe police, the culprits are thought to be "Vandals", members of a Germanic tribe that mysteriously disappeared in the 6th century.

Which is beside the point. I linked to the Snopes page because it points out that this story was first published on a fake news site, which is something you can check out yourself. And if it was first published on a fake news site, it's likely to be fake, no?

So Snopes can't be trusted, but Now8News can?

Baffling. You'd trust now8news.com, a satire website that runs stories like "Donald Trump's Head Shaved After Attack By Hispanic Protestors" and "Woman ‘Accidentally’ Kills Husband With Car While Swerving to Avoid Ghostly Apparition Of ‘Prince’" over a website that does its best to expose hoaxes and frauds without claiming to be infallible.

@Travis The Dragon - do you even want to be taken seriously with this stuff?

Sadly, this gorilla "had" to be killed. It looked as if it tried to protect the kid. I bet it did.
Heartbreaking, that moment when he puts the child on his feet. Then he took it to a calmer place (away from the screaming) and got killed on the spot. (killing is not on video)

Who remembers this gentle giant?

http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/bestiality-supreme-court-canada-1.3624312

The Supreme Court of Canada has upheld the acquittal of a British Columbia man in a decision that defines the crime of bestiality as penetration involving a person and animal.
The B.C. man was found guilty three years ago of 13 counts arising from years of sexual molestation of his two step-daughters.
The charges included one count of bestiality under the Criminal Code, stemming from sexual activity involving the older girl and the family dog.
The man successfully challenged the bestiality conviction in the B.C. Court of Appeal based on the fact the activity did not involve penetration. (The man cannot be named to protect the identities of the step-daughters.)
In a 6-1 decision Thursday, the Supreme Court affirmed that ruling, rejecting the notion bestiality is an offence encompassing sexual activity of any kind between a person and an animal.
At issue was whether updates to the Criminal Code in 1955 and 1988 altered the meaning of the crime.
"The term 'bestiality' has a well-established legal meaning and refers to sexual intercourse between a human and an animal. Penetration has always been understood to be an essential element of bestiality," wrote Justice Thomas Cromwell on behalf of the court.
"Parliament may wish to consider whether the present provisions adequately protect children and animals. But it is for Parliament, not the courts, to expand the scope of criminal liability for this ancient offence."
In a dissenting opinion, Justice Rosalie Abella said she had a great deal of difficulty accepting that in modernizing amendments to the Criminal Code, "Parliament forgot to bring the offence out of the Middle Ages."
A good case can be made that by 1988, Parliament intended, or at the very least assumed, that penetration was irrelevant, she wrote.
