GAME RULES:

  • If you do anything to break the the rules or spirit of the game (eg. giving away information when you are dead, threatening / bribing other players), you will be instantly game banned and probably banned from future games, so don't do it.
  • The Town win when they kill all of the Mafia members. The Mafia win as soon as their numbers are equal or better than the number of remaining town members at the start of a day phase.
  • Citizen (Town) - You are just a regular person in the town, you win when all the mafia are dead. This makes up the uninformed majority of the town
Mafia (Mafia) - The informed minority, all members of the Mafia know each other. With your fellow Mafia and once during each night, you get to choose to kill a player and remove them from the game.
Cop (Town) - Once during each night, you get to check to see if a person is part of the Mafia. The game will start with a day phase, go into a night phase after a period of time and alternate between day phases and night phases after that.
  • During the day is when players can discuss in the game thread who they think the mafia are and when the nominations and lynchings can occur. Day phases have 2 sections to them. The nomination phase and the voting phase.
  • Nomination Phase (3 days every per day phase) - In order for someone to have a lynch vote against them, they must be first nominated by a player and then seconded by another player. You can't nominate or second yourself. When you wish to nominate or second someone, bold it for it to be binding. You can retract a nomination by stating "I withdraw my nomination for Player AAA" and bolding it. A player must have a nomination and total seconds equal to 1/3rd of the amount of players currently in the game (rounded up), with a minimum of one nomination and one second.
  • Voting Phase (1 day each) - If someone is nominated and sufficiently seconded then they will have approximately 1 day to post any statements they wish and people will vote in a poll on whether they think the person is guilty or innocent. The player up to be lynched cannot vote in the poll. The voting phase does not retract time from the Nomination Phase time.
  • In order for someone to be lynched and killed, the guilty vote must be higher than the innocent vote and have half or more of the players still in the game vote guilty. Otherwise the player is found innocent and the game goes back to the nomination part of the day phase. Multiple people can be voted upon each day assuming someone hasn't been lynched.
  • If no-one is lynched and 3 days have elasped during the Nomination Phase, then the game immediately proceeds to the next night phase.
  • Night phases will last approximately 1 day long and this is the phase where the majority of powers will be used including Mafia killings. There is no posting whatsoever in the game thread during the night phase.
  • There will be private conversations for the Mafia and any other roles like the Cop that have a night phase aspect to them, so use those conversations if you have a role that does stuff during the night.
  • When a player dies, their role will be revealed in the game thread. If you are dead, do not post in the thread.

  • Do not edit your posts. Posting mistakes are part of the game, and I can see all edits. Edited posts will not count.
ROLES IN PLAY

Citizen (Town) - You are just a regular person in the town, you win when all the mafia are dead. This makes up the uninformed majority of the town. There are 10 Citizens.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Setting.

It's 1935 in a town in Sicily, set far away from the big cities. This town has never had problems before, but recently, Il Duce has pushed the Mafia out of the cities. They've taken cover, and based on the fact that the Mayor and two other highly-known people in the town have turned up dead, a few have made it to your town.

There's no outside help to be had, so there's only one solution - the villagers must decide amongst themselves who is a member of the Mafia - and hang them from the gallows.

The Victims Players:

Ariana
Brigantium
Collin
Cornfed Hick
mckindog
Mosh
MrKnickerbocker
Night Prowler
Perun
RTC
SinisterMinisterX
Stardust
Travis The Dragon

Absolutely. In fact, it's encouraged - in 3 days, when the placeholder poll has closed, if nobody has been nominated, seconded, and executed, then we go to night phase and the Mafia get a free kill.

"I don't know what I should do...should I flee or should I stay here? ........I'm scared."

I won't nominate anyone just yet. I'm gonna wait and see.

If you're inexperienced in playing the game, or just need some brushing up (like myself), I can't recommend this site enough.

Has all the essential information about the roles, theory and terminology of the game. I used to play some games on Mafiascum around 2 years ago, a lot of fun.

With that said:

Nominate SinisterMinisterX

Lefties are the devil's minions.

Also, there really should be a no-edit rule. If someone makes a mistake or slip, they shouldn't be allowed to correct it. It's against the spirit and nature of the game.

Lefties are the devil's minions.

I'm right-handed. Proof:

My nickname comes from the Bela Fleck song "The Sinister Minister".

Edit for clarity: I'm not denying anything about "devil's minion". Just the lefty bit.

Proof?? You call that proof?
Is this man not known by all to be a lefty?

Do we trust the man who casts the first stone?

I thought I saw Stardust walking the street alone at night and he had a very evil grin on his face. What could be up with that? Or was it Mosh?

Since there are so many new players, I'm guessing that at least one or two mods are Mafia, as they already have offline discussions anyway and it's easy to discuss amongst themselves. So, SMX is a reasonable guess, as is Perun and NP.

By the way, might we be better off letting the mafia get the first kill, as opposed to lynching one of our own and potentially going down 0-2? The first round is pretty much blind luck anyway.

Yes, I'm a law-abiding villager. Don't expect you to necessarily believe that, but there you have it.

Plus, he keeps talking to himself, very strange indeed...

I thought the same thing. But then again...

Maybe you're trying to play us all the fool by appearing to be an open book

All roles were randomly assigned.
