Anybody up for a forum collaboration?

Rhytm under your own solos! So that the rhytm still gets stereo imaging. It's usually done that way and is in the original.

The riff I'm talking about is at 04:51. It's supposed to be played by both sides. :) Other than those bits, everything's done except for Zare.

I just hope I find the right amps. :D I really should've written down what amps I used.

SMX, please send me the drum takes for edit/drums backingtrack.

That's English worthy of Thousand Suns.

This reference track has ten seconds of silence, followed by the Maiden song synced to a click track. Play to the click, not to the song! The Maiden was edited very slightly to match the click. They played almost exactly 120 bpm (so close they must have used a click themselves) but I had to fix a few things by a few milliseconds.

The click track only extends through the opening. It disappears as soon as the drums begin.

Also some advance warning: I rewrote the bass part and played it on the 6-string. I dropped most of the bassline an octave to make it fat. Don't let it throw ya.

"kick" is a drum, "bass" is a bass guitar. They're all synced to the reference at the top of the post.

Let's slay this sucker. :D

I'm really busy here so I won't be getting to Look For the Truth until the end of the month. I'll try to bang out the rhythm parts for ATG soon though (probably this weekend).

Hey, I almost forgot, did you guys pick the next song yet?

Someone mentioned Powerslave, I'd be cool with that. I'd also be good with Stranger in a Strange Land (though we'd probably have to go at least half or full step down again for the vocals).

Let's have a vote before we pick the next one. I had fun with Alex, and Look For the Truth is easy enough, but as the guy having to sing these things I'd like to have a thorough discussion on what we record.

Same here :( I wanted to do it last weekend, but alas no time (got myself a new place to live, posted more in 100K topic...)

You'd still need a reference, because the DAW can't know where and when to trigger something without being told exactly where the trigger points are. :D

Otherwise I'd have to do it all by hand, and it still wouldn't be as good even if I did it very carefully.

I decided that I should listen to it. It's pretty good, however the solo at 4:20 could be a bit louder.
