2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil

One of the funniest things I've ever seen in a football match. :D

The first World Cup match I ever watched was the opening match of France 98. Guess who was playing. :eek:
 
USA were lucky to go through. They were terrible in the Germany game, aside from the last 20 minutes of the 1st half.

Belgium/S. Korea or Russia/Algeria? No sure which one to watch. lol
 
Decided to watch Russia vs Algerie, but switched after the first match seemed to die down. Belgium vs S-Korea is more pace-filled and now we are in for drama as well. Steven Defour sent of for a stamp on a Korean player. What an utterly stupid thing to do.
 
I missed both of the games since I picked another TV show that airs during the same hours, but congrats to Belgium (although they were unimpressive) and Algeria.
 
Ivory Coast so disappointing. On paper they are the strongest African team I've ever seen. You get an easy group and you're out.
Costa Rica will beat Greece and to see los ticos in the quarter finals will be a beautiful thing.
And the French! Allez les bleus! I think they'll push Germany to penalties in the quarter finals

Mentally I don't think they will have a problem - what better motivation can you get than playing Brazil in the World Cup - but their matches against Spain and Holland must have cost a lot in terms of physical exhaustion. Brazil, on the other hand, could more or less play their last group match on cruise control. That gives them an advantage, especially since Chile's style depends on them being able to run a lot.
