RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2026

If they had 50k then that's quite good I would say.

Sonisphere 2014 with Maiden and Metallica headlining apparently had 30k, although that number isn't official
That would be crazy if true. Although maybe would go some way to explain why that festival died. Which was a shame as Knebworth is a much better site than Donington.

I am glad to hear you had a great time at Eddfest guy! It looks as if great effort was put into making the whole thing special! :)

It is a shame you ended up getting a substandard vocal performance though. :(

Europe is now done and looking forward to finally bringing this shindig to the Americas. Hopefully they won't officially announce they are filming the Charlotte show which means it will go on without a hitch, heh.

The event itself was really great, organisational issues with getting in and out aside (and those were sort of inevitable I can't lie).

It was heartwarming if anything to have a large and enthusiastic crowd help Bruce through. He was an absolute trooper (heh) through the whole set and people really gave him their energy and helped out, especially during the encore. It was, kind of oddly, a special-feeling show because of that aspect. I wouldn't want to be the person reviewing that Aces High footage this morning - I'm sure they'll work something out with it but it was far from ideal - but I think they'll be pretty happy with the other two tracks, Bruce did well and the crowd was loud and responsive throughout.

My MVP of the night was actually Simon, who was really consistent and played with a good amount of flair in his fills, more than last year or even earlier in the tour this year. I'd say last year and earlier this year, he (quite understandably) made just as many flubs as any other member of the band. But between this and Paris, he seems to have really settled in and got comfy with the rest of the band, and the rest of the band seems to have a great rapport with him onstage too. He also has a great big smile on his face whenever the camera cuts to him, which is lovely to see.

Other than that, The Darkness were great fun and sort of an ideal "warm everyone up" opener, so Steve made a good pick even though I was questioning it. Maiden were on fine form and well locked in, sound was better than expected, crowd good. Other than Bruce having an illness I think the band will be very happy with that as a special event and as a closer to the European tour.

Steve's hair hasn't really visible changed since it started very slowly moving back in the 1990s. Even when it was moving back at the front he still always had a ton of it.

It's never had a dramatic magical comeback like the guys from Kiss where he just shows up with more hair again one day or the texture has magically changed because it's a joke shop wig.

His hair has pretty much always looked the same so maybe he's either lucky or he's taking finesteride to slow down the hair loss.

I always felt bad for Blaze when he joined that he was five to ten years younger than the rest of the guys and he was the only one visibly badly balding.

Nicko and Janick have apparently immortal hairlines.

Steve's was slowly moving back.

Davey started developing a thin spot around virtual XI but with careful combing it really wasn't noticeable for another decade. He then would get it fixed.

As soon as poor old Blaze started to sweat he looked like George Costanza and had to go with a hat by 1998.

Why did I write all that?

Steve and Adrian were noticeably receding in 1999. There’s a Metal Edge interview with some new publicity shots and it’s really noticeable. They must have hopped on finasteride shortly after. Adrian’s had a transplant at some point.

Steve still is notably receding. Adrian has recently had work done on his though.

Steve's hairline is waaay up his head. He's just not quite at Hulk Hogan levels.

Bruce called Infinite Dreams one of the coolest songs the band has ever written.

btw, Simon should play the harmony part the same way he plays one of Rime's faster parts, the pattern is the same and the song should be faster during that part.

It's not a given that everyone starts taking finasteride when their hair starts thinning, with side effects like a decreased libido and erectile dysfunction.
Many men also prefer to opt for a hair system, a hair transplant, or perhaps even a wig, and nothing else.

Maiden were on form throughout and played like legends. On a downside, Bruce was ill and his voice wasn't great in places. He got the crowd to sing along for much of the hard parts. I'm curious to see how they handle that on the dvd.
Maybe they shouldn't say in advance which show they want to use. Encores during daylight (right or?), Bruce singing sick (Aces!)... maybe release a Live Chapter-style concert video again, but they want to use the Paris recording. They can use Amsterdam instead of Knebworth, using the daylight footage (I mean, 2 Minutes) from the latter would be weirder than using a show Bruce was sick for. Using a show for which the vocalist is sick should never be done.
