RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2026

In the '90s, one of my country's TV channels used to broadcast metal concerts on Friday or Saturday nights. I think there must have been some metal fans working there, because over the course of a year or so they showed Behind the Iron Curtain, Live After Death, Maiden England, and Raising Hell. I was blown away by all of it. I think that's really how I discovered Maiden.

It was so different and kick-ass. We had only been independent for a few years, and those were wild times, including on television.

Watching those live shows, I absolutely adored everything about them - the show itself, the music, the boys on stage. I even thought their jesterish clothing on Live After Death was great. It never even crossed my mind that I might dislike any of them.

You could sense their personalities from the way they behaved on stage while playing. Nicko was funny and completely owned his drum kit. Steve was badass. Bruce was the ultimate frontman. And both guitarists seemed very intelligent, professional and restrained - maybe even a little shy.

And boy, the way they played those guitars was honey to my ears.

So I don't share the impression some of you have regarding Adrian's character. I never got any negative impression of him at all. Even then, I thought he looked stylish and was a great guitar player.
I Can see me there. About the whs videos. For me they were my heroes, maiden england was my fav show. I saw all off them all the time. Thats why my first iron maiden show was a complete let down lol. Because they didnt use the backdrop because the wind and you could see the small buildings behind from a small spanish town. And thats what i not used to see on the vhs. That was xfactor 95
