Songs considered a "filler" track you actually do enjoy?

See, Gangland does fill like filler to me, and honestly, so does Invaders, mainly due to the fact that I don`t think its a good album opener, much less a good introduction for Bruce to the band, which is why I don`t hold Number of the Beast as high as the other 80s records.

That first "CHILDREN OF THE DAAAAAAAAAAAAAMNED!" THAT is where we really first get to meet Mr Dickinson.
Yah, like I don't see Gangland or Invaders on a level with Children or Hallowed but I like them way more than most, find them fun, rockin songs that serve as the bridge between the Maiden of Di Anno and the Maiden of Dickinson

I'm just going to do a list of songs that get hate from some quarters that I've found myself enjoying here and there:

The Apparition
Chains of Misery
Fear is the Key
The Angel and the Gambler (yes, even the full 9-minute version given the right circumstances)

Fully agreed! Well, except for The Apparition. That one's too long for what it actually brings to the table, imo.

Invaders - superb riffs and incredibly powerful vocals
Gangland
Quest For Fire
Weekend Warrior - the music works for me and there's a wonderful twin lead in the middle
Look For The Truth - powerful verse vocal melody lines + cool breakbeat-ish drums in parts + love the 'oh - oh' bit
Gates Of Tomorrow - full of marvellous, driving melodies that totally work for me
New Frontier - nonstop action, a relentless ride with great riffs

The Pilgrim

The hip-hop-esque drum beat intro followed by an amazing harmony, just awesome! It has some really great guitar parts all across.
Ah, there's one that is quite the definition of filler to me. I'd happily lose it from that album. Never noticed the hip hop beat before, must listen again. Maybe I'll love the song next time, my taste changes in unpredictable ways without me noticing

Lost In A Lost World
Shadows Of The Valley
When The River Runs Deep
New Frontier
Gates Of Tomorrow
Don't Look To The Eyes Of A Stranger
Weekend Warrior
Chains Of Misery
Quest For Fire
Gangland

They could count as ''fillers''. I really enjoy all of them, some I am a big fan of.

I figured The Apparition was the hottest take here. I agree, though, it's not a great song. Lyrically, though, I've always been able to get into it, and the semi-conversational slant to the lyrics I find to be unique and interesting for Maiden. The musical backup for it, though, makes if feel like a first draft that could've been developed into something better. Probably never into anything fantastic, but better.

That one is utter shite! It probably explains why you love Virtual XI so much though!
Sounds in large part like right out of Tattoed Millionaire, but a bit Maidenized. Surprised it made an Iron Maiden album and even more surprising that it's a Harris/Gers song rather than a Dickinson/Gers track.

Ι will consider as filler tracks songs that are lesser known or never played live, because honestly we can't know if any song is filler.
So,
Deja Vu
Flash of the Blade
The Prophecy
Judas be my Guide
are all favourites of mine

Sir, I think those are far too strong and harsh words for our beloved band. Personally, I think "pure garbage" is a much more fitting description of the song.

Overall, it's garbage, for sure, but that harmony section redeems it to the level of pure garbage. Everybody knows that sticking your hands into dirty or sticky garbage is a real pain in the ass. But when the garbage is pure, it's so much nicer and easier to throw it into the nearest bin.

It probably helped that I grew up in Dortmund and know a couple of people who are the exact kind described in the song!
I'm also a big fan of how acoustic guitars are utilized throughout the album, WW being one of the more prominent examples.

Prodigal son
Back in the village
The loneliness of a long distance runner
Hooks in you
Judgement of heaven
New frontier
