You’ve added Infinite Dreams to the setlist on this leg of the Run For Your Lives tour – the first time you’ve played it in 38 years. How on earth do you decide which songs to play and which songs to drop?
Steve: “A lot of it is governed by what Bruce wants to sing. He’s singing better than ever in my view, but none of us are getting any younger and it gets tougher. He really wanted to do Infinite Dreams. I wasn’t that bothered about it, even though it’s my song, but we did it and it sounded great. I’d have loved to have a couple of deep cuts on this tour, like Only The Good Die Young [a song that Maiden have never played live].”

Which baffles me even more, since Bruce knows, that he is struggling with Aces High and yet they are still doing it. It more and more seems like it was a managment decision rather than a band one (combined with Bruce's pride, ego and stubborness to say NO).

Also, I think the album is happening. Bruce intentionally left a gap from January to end of May next year and it seems that he has been working on Steve during the course of the tour to get them in the studio early next year.
Any plans to start work on a new Maiden album?

And about "only the good die young", steve is talking about the song in every interview since last year. At this point i think he is just trolling the fans.

Makes me wonder how much of the "boss" role he's given up in recent years. Getting outvoted for 2027, and clearly he wants to play that song, since he's brought it up a fair few times in interviews. It's probably indicative of nothing, just too many other songs they want to play more/feel compelled to play by audience expectations.
That said, if I had to pick ONE song for them to play live, it's that one. Close second is Judas, but OTGDY is higher on my wish list than Alexander was...and Alexander turned out pretty magnificent.
For me it would indeed be Only the Good Die Young.
Judas would be pretty cool.
I wouldn't mind hearing Bruce do one more Blaze era song like Edge of Darkness too. But that's never going to happen.

I will give him props for altering the chorus. That almost sounds passable. The verses are dire though.
