RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2026

I think so. It was my first Maiden concert and after all tapes with Rush, Purple and Doctor Doctor. Lights Out , everybody screaming and started the first notes of Man on the Edge , No pyro, anything , poor stage production, but they sounded amazing
I think you're right. I don't remember any intro being played before Man on the Edge and I can clearly remember the intro of the Virtual XI tour. For me that was the first time I saw them live with a (classical) piece being played before the first song.

For virtual xi was a classical intro and lights like the world of the worlds type. Red lights moving.

Maiden typically use something like 5 or 6 mins of taped intro. Started noticing this on BOS tour.

That’s 5% of a two hour show that Maiden don’t actually have to sweat on stage!!!

You may also include doctor doctor, and I recall when that preceded transilvanya, that was about 10 mins of band-free entertainment for the packed hall!
Maybe it’s just me, but the taped intros on RFYL feel longer. Probably because I’m not the biggest fan of Killers (the album).

Now The Future Past Tour: Doctor Doctor, Blade Runner, and then the CSIT intro built up the intensity perfectly.

My voice is currently ruined, my knees feel like I'much older than 43 and I'm tired as fuck.

But I'm happy. And grateful that we still have our favourite band with us, alive and kicking.

And a set with Infinite Dreams (!!!), Phantom, Killers, Powerslave, RIME and Seventh Son ... it is very close to my wish list. Add The Evil That Men Do and it would be 12 on a scale from 1 to 10. What we got is already at 11.

Tonight was maybe the highlight of the whole Run For Your Lives tour for me.

I was able to get to the third/second row very easily on Dave and Adrian’s side, and there was no pressure at all. There were however about 283 crowdsurfers. But the crowd was quite into it, singing along, jumping and having a great time.

During Seventh Son I may have had a moment with Adrian, but he was wearing glasses so I don’t know if he was looking at me. But it was right after Bruce held the long note. Adrian pointed to his imaginary watch and for some reason I nodded to him, and he started nodding as well. Funny. I also catched his wristband with one or two other people, but they let go as I had the most solid grip. I gave it to the woman who also managed to grab it. She asked for a picture with me after the show and we talked a bit.

Bruce had a really good night, and he was in a fantastic mood. His introductions felt more spontaneous, and he got the whole crowd to chant “RO!” and row before Infinite Dreams. Steve had a really big smile on his face during that moment. Bruce was also chasing Janick around during Wasted Years, I can’t remember the two of them messing around together this much in years.

Highlights for me were Infinite Dreams, Powerslave and Seventh Son. Iron Maiden however is a bit sluggish these days.

I also want to highlight Dave Murray. He is such a natural performer, and his contact with the crowd is so genuine. I think he gets overlooked a bit because he is so laidback, but the man’s got stage presence.

And that was the last show for me this year, but hopefully there are more to come later.
