Imagine if he was the one who vetoed it.Who knows if Simon has a say beyond "are you in or out?"
Nah, fuck you guys, I want to go on tour with British Lion

I think Adrian and Bruce definitely fancy a break. Not from music but from Maiden.
Bruce is definitely buzzed again about his solo career and Adrian has other stuff to do so I reckon they both voted to take time off. Dave definitely voted as he likely wants to spend time with his family and Simon I suspect doesn’t get a vote.
Leaving just Steve and Janick and I bet Janick was in the fence and would be happy with either decision leaving Steve out voted.
If I had to guess it's Dave and Janick who want a break.
Isnt bruce going to tour next year?. Definetly Dave is the one who wants a year off. I see after the gigs and reahersals he doesnt touch the guitar at all. There were years that his solos were really nothing close to the album and a lor of "guitarrist tricks" to go trough the solo.I think Adrian and Bruce definitely fancy a break. Started some time in the 2010s and up to 2019. He sounded much more focused and inspired after the pandemic. There were years that his solos were really nothing close to the album and a lor of "guitarrist tricks" to go trough the solo.
I would say Dave really started to come back in 2023 and last year he was on top form. '23 was obviously everyone playing their ass off because of Nicko, but last year seems like they seriously focused on performance above all, since we also saw arrangement changes in songs like Phantom to bring them closer to the studio versions.Started some time in the 2010s and up to 2019. Rod right now:Maybe it was Rod who wanted the break since he is stressed out administrating all the money.
I think it's more of a democracy since the reunion, and probably a more fragile one with everybody being up in years. You don't want to be the guy pushing someone to go out and tour when they don't want to, which could, in essence, force someone to say, "screw it. I'm past retirement age anyway. I'm out." Just my speculation on things.Do you think Steve is telling the truth?
How could he have been outvoted? Wouldn't Simon want to work for Maiden and make money? Steve, Bruce, and likely Adrian don't want to take a break either.
This would be my best guess on how things might've played out as well, although I do think Bruce would've voted no touring (to accommodate his own tour), but yes to recording a new album to set up the following year. And I agree, Simon probably wasn't included.I think Adrian and Bruce definitely fancy a break. Not from music but from Maiden.

Also, they will return in 2028 with tour as they said, they gotta promote something, doing another hita tour or return with 2nd part of 50th anniversary tour (53th now) wouldn't make sense to me. Especially that last fully album tour was TBOS - over 10 years ago at that point (FPT was a hybrid still). So my prediction is that in 2027 we're getting #18 for which they have I believe already written and possibly recorded songs. In worst case scenario, 2027 we will get album announced for early 2028, but for sure 2026 will be the last year in which we have no clue about new album.I still have the strong feeling 2027 will be the year they'll release #18. Long time recorded yet. Even if they now announced a break. It might be even true in a way from their point of view, since releasing #18 in late 2027 wouldn't mean "work" in their definition when it's already been recorded yet. The working part would be touring it in 2028.
This is more or less exactly my thinking for quite a while yet. But I think the album has already been recorded. Also, they will return in 2028 with tour as they said, they gotta promote something, doing another hita tour or return with 2nd part of 50th anniversary tour (53th now) wouldn't make sense to me. I hope that's the case, but as others on here have stated, the evidence isn't there to support that an album has been recorded (no band sightings near studios, Nicko outright saying nothing's been recorded, that he hopes to do a track or two, etc.). However, that doesn't mean the chances of it being true are 0%.Also, they will return in 2028 with tour as they said, they gotta promote something, doing another hita tour or return with 2nd part of 50th anniversary tour (53th now) wouldn't make sense to me. It would be harder to sell cause average fan doesn't care about set made of 10 8+ minute tracks and only at the encore to get few classics. I would like this set, but I'm not in majority.I hope that's the case, but as others on here have stated, the evidence isn't there to support that an album has been recorded (no band sightings near studios, Nicko outright saying nothing's been recorded, that he hopes to do a track or two, etc.). I do agree that if they are going back on the road in 2028, yet another hits tour will flat somewhat flat with fans, considering RFYL is being sorta touted as the end-all-be-all of tours. And I've always said what makes the most sense would be to do another hybrid tour next, which would be RFYL Pt. 2, covering The X Factor up to Album 18 (which would feature the most heavily, though encores I could see being the usuals...Trooper, etc.). Simply covering The X Factor to Senjutsu would be a much harder sell than the slam dunk that RFYL is.
It's true that there was no hoopla in announcing the recording of new albums the last two times, though there was a lot of fan submitted evidence suggesting the 2019 recording of what would turn out to be Senjutsu. I hope that's the case this time, though Steve did seem unusually candid about his struggles with even the idea of working on a new album in that infamous interview where he talked about stress, etc. If that was part of pulling the wool over our eyes, then bravo, sir. Again, I hope you're right and that this one too was done in secret, or at least they're planning on doing a new one in secret this year. It's true that there is no evidence that shows that album is recorded, I'm just saying that it could be the case as it was with last 2: for TBOS in mid 2015 we got news like "ye bruce has recovered from cancer, but we still recorded album in 2014" and for SJ in mid 2021 "ye album's been done since early 2019". Album now is more likely to be recorded now or next year, but writing process could've taken place as early as COVID period (Bruce was talking about doing another album during lockdown).
If Simon is ever to be considered a full member, then yes, he should play on the new album 100%, if for nothing else then to see what he brings to the table in composing drum parts within the Maiden sound. However, if Nicko wants to do two songs, I 1,000% want him to be able to do that.Anyway, as loyal as I am to Nicko, I think Simon should play on the next album.
When do you think they recorded it?This is more or less exactly my thinking for quite a while yet. But I think the album has already been recorded.
How can you be sure? The album's not recorded.
