It bears repeating: Bruce’s current band is excellent. They’re true professionals, they’ve got real chemistry, and you can see they’re having fun onstage. I genuinely want them to succeed with Bruce so they can carry on as a unit for years to come. Of course, the upcoming album will be the ultimate decider—but I hope it draws bigger and bigger crowds. Let Bruce’s solo career prosper, because while I don’t expect Maiden to release any truly definitive albums in the future, Bruce on his own still has the potential to shake things up in a big way.
I would say that second album that they will record will be decider - first one sometimes is like a first pancake, not so great. But I hope that it will bring as many people possible. But damn - they all have real chemistry and sound great together.

Right after his polar rant, they launch into Flash of the Blade—and it’s sounding better and more confident each time. The performance is starting to bloom. In fact, it’s becoming a cruising beast of a song.
Definitely. It's such a blast of a song and a highlight. Like Shadow Of The Gods' heavy part and especially the golden chorus (Or Accident's, what an opener). Bruce shines and is in top form, feeling more comfortable with his solo material, the challenging songs are there ofc. Btw, Azas, if you want to, you can make a cover with Shadow's cosmic screen arts, it would have fitted as the album's title track.

Agreed, but I wouldn't say that about Maiden. For me SJ is a definitive album. But I agree about Bruce's solo potential. Sometimes new bands can release a masterpiece right from the first album. I guess having 66 ideas to choose from at first is harder and wild.

So, you’re saying Bruce’s next album might be his Holy Diver moment? As for having so many ideas... I’m not sure that’s necessarily a good sign. All it really takes is 8–10 strong songs to make a truly great record (Although, sometimes a single song can be stitched together from three different ideas—Powerslave being a perfect example). I remember Metallica often bragging about having mountains of song ideas, yet they haven’t managed to deliver a truly outstanding album since the 2000s.

Bruce, on how he loves air conditioning.

A great version of Flash of the Blade indeed! Love it!!

Y'all know he already did this with Accident of Birth, right?
For me Chemical wedding > Accident of Birth but maybe it is only me.
I meant he immediately dropped a banger with the first try with his new band with AOB. The Chemical Wedding is my favorite album, ever. The fact that they released back to back masterpieces in just a year makes them the most perfect band in history.
