As always hard to judge a show right after it, but fuck me this was great fun and maybe the best this year for me.

Rime was emotional, almost got tears in my eyes after the scream.

Damn! I'm getting post Maiden depression now that everything has ended for me (Stockholm 2nd night). People are bringing up Ullevi and it's a nice comparison (apart from Stockholm being indoors). The media coverage was impressive this time around and the streets were buzzing. I said it before the tour started and I'm saying it again now that I've seen it: the setlist couldn't have been any better for giving both casual fans and nerds something to chew on!

I'd say Bruce still sounds great for his age, even more so last summer when he did a solo tour.
That being said, the lisp and lack of enunciation; this is a symptom of his cancer treatment right? Unfortunately it seems to have become more pronounced lately.

We know one thing for sure now: seagulls love heavy metal.
One was circling around the stadium during the beginning of the gig and Bruce mentioned it right before Rime. Rime was the highlight for me by the way. And Simon did a bloody great job!
Fantastic gig!

I'm saying he sounds shit at Aces High. He was pretty good overall tonight and he was even better last summer. He still sounds great, but he just can't sing this song anymore and he also struggles at very fast songs.

Rime was mind-blowingly amazing performance. I happened to stand right beside a former colleague of mine and as we chatted after the show, he said that Rime of the Ancient Mariner was probably the best live performance he has ever seen, haha.

And I mean... It really was something else! Bruce was in the prime zone and the whole band was on fire during that performance!

As predicted, Adrian switched the guitars around again. Murders and Wrathchild are now the silver Lado. Killers is main Green Jackson. There is no footage of Phantom yet. Powerslave is the Jackson. Rime is probably the silver Lado. SSOASS is the Jackson. Trooper, Hallowed and Aces are the silver Lado. Wasted Years is the Jackson.

I think the reason behind this is that he prefers the single coil in the Jackson for some clean sounds. Especially on Powerslave.

Both the slight lisp and the slurred annunciation I'm afraid are simply facets of his ageing voice. Considering he went through the cancer treatment years ago, and it's only become prominently audible over the last couple of years at the most. But yeah, he always sounds a bit drunk these days.

That's one of the many reasons I hated the half-arsed, B Side compilation album that is TMP. You can clearly tell which lyrics were recorded recently for the album, and which are leftovers from years ago.

I can partially agree with that, but the really fast songs nowadays are a struggle and Aces High is always shit even if he's at his best.

This Rime performance is a testament that Bruce can still sing on the highest level, if he doesn't pick stupidly hard songs (Aces High) in stupid setlist places (first encore).
