RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

I think I will leave at Iron Maiden to save myself the embarrassment in front of my friends. My mates will be fine without me. They are big kids.

I’m sorry but this is just shocking. I cannot fathom their utter arrogance. How can they think that this is an acceptable performance by any stretch of the imagination? To put it bluntly Bruce sounds shit. The band sound incredible.

In 2018, Bruce held it together but by a razors edge. This is just embarrassing. The whole thing about ‘authenticity’ just winds me up as well. How the fuck can Bruce say that down-tuning is not authentic? I suppose the testicles scraped over hot tarmac version he is giving us at the moment is revealing his authentic persona: stubborn and arrogant.

It’s sad to see a band that I love perform like this. I can forgive slip ups in a performance, but this is a systemic issue for the band.

Bruce has said in interviews that he reads scientific articles about new findings in quantum physics and is convinced that he understands them.
You don't really believe that someone like that would think he can no longer sing Aces High.

I'm in a hobby band with a singer of Bruces age. He's no Bruce but he's a pretty good singer..

Anyway we thought we would have a crack at a White snake song today after playing all the songs we had already planned to learn for rehearsal.

The singer was listening to the studio version on YouTube which I think is in standard tuning and trying to sing along to learn the song and struggled.

As soon as we played it in the tuning we always play every song in, D standard, he was totally nailing it.

In Helsinki for my (possibly) last show of the tour and I went to see a tribute band at On the Rocks. Between the two bands that were playing, Dennis Stratton of all people walked into the bar.

On top of that, five minutes later Janick walked into the pub next door. I wonder if he knew there were 100-150 Maiden-fans next door.

Starstruck I decided to leave to find my friends in a restaurant nearby.

I've just watched the 2005 Ullevi show 2 times this weekend, it surely brings memories of that show I saw a couple of days earlier in Finland. I can't help but be moved by the energy and synergy the band has. The reunion lineup was something truly incredible, and I'm definitely going to miss Nick.
Phenomenal show. It may be my nostalgia talking, but the reunion lineup 1999 till the early 2010s was really something to behold. The energy and fizz of the band was incredible. It was still great in the mid 2010s - 2024, but obviously slowing down slightly.

I’m pissed off at both my job and my favourite band at the moment. Probably explains why my post was dramatic!
I sympathise
Actually, this is a rather nice version of Aces High. It's rare now. Adrian's backing vocals help, ofc. It shouldn't have been played, though. It's shocking. The fastest played song in the encore, which is good. Unlike Fear or Trooper, which were over the place tempo-wise and definitely not rejuvenated, unfortunately. I wonder if the band members want the songs to be played slower?
Personally I really don't like Aces High now from what I've heard, it sounds like Adrian is being used to skilfully paper over the cracks.

I went back and listened to some random Aces High versions from 2018, better with Nicko and a still soaring Bruce performance

On a bus, moving towards Helsinki! I came from the night shift in the morning and haven't slept a whole lot, so I probably catch a hour or two of sleep in a hostel bed and then I'm all set for my 10th Maiden show!

As I couldn't make it to London in 2017, I'm glad for another chance to witness Powerslave! For the very same reason I still haven't heard Wrathchild live either, wow! Murders, Killers & Rime will also be new live songs for me and I'm so grateful for this opportunity to hear Phantom of the Opera, The Clairvoyant & Seventh Son of a Seventh Son again - possibly for the very last time!

I agree with the majority here that Aces High doesn't quite... fly, but I'm sure that at heartfelt Wasted Years sing-along will wash away any potential bad taste left by the Spitfire. :)

I get that some of you might feel that closing with Wasted Years again is lazy, and it probably is indeed, but I just think it's a beautiful & very definitive way to end a show on this kind of a tour; or any tour, for that matter, as its message seems to grow every passing year.

UP THE IRONS - AND FACE UP!!!
