RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

Man, are we really going to pretend one of the most iconic phrases in metal, one which gets referenced by a bunch of other artists rather regularly, is "played out"? 99% of vocalists out there wish they had anything even resembling a catchphrase like that.

Same with the arm movements during Hallowed, that shit's awesome.

If these things are considered lame I don't even wanna know what's supposed to be cool anymore.

Word. I'd say "Scream for me" is less cringe than "TALLICA GIVES YOU HEAVEH BABEHHHH" or "DOES IT FEEL GOOD TO BE ALIVE?!"

FWIW I do enjoy Hetfield's stage banter, but still. :D

I think it would have helped to have had Simon slightly heigher. Not like Mikkey Dee who is fully on top:

But maybe just a meter or so higher. Right now he feels somewhat buried:

Nicko obviously filled out the space well, but I think the design around the drum riser could use some refinement to make it feel more complete. Adding a few extra steps in front of the drums and raising the drum platform by about a meter, so that the top of Simon’s head aligns with the bottom edge of the back screen.

Simon is using a click in his inears. Not the whole band, but they indeed have to play with the drummer.

Okay, it seems you do have a point, because I did a quick analysis of the performances of Rime from Bratislava and Prague, and that's what I came up with:

There seems to be a count in or a click for the beginning, but then the tempo fluctuates till the quiet middle part (meaning no click). I don't have time to analyse the middle part, but after the scream with the explosions there is a click indeed, the tempo is dead consistent, and then in the last part the tempo seems to be free again beginning with "Hear the groans of the long dead seamen" till the end.
Simply put I suspect there's a click for the instrumental parts, no click for the vocal parts.

Somebody might have more time to figure it out more clearly.

I think the drum riser is not higher in Maiden because they want to interact with the drummer.

The band are great and the set list is very good for general audiences. I would have dusted off one forgotten not played for decades song and replaced one of the more overplayed classics with it but other than that it's fine. Infinite Dreams for any of the overplayed ones.

They are playing very well though and Bruce is pretty fucking remarkable for the most part still singing these in the original key.

I don't particularly care if they used AI on the screens either to be honest.

It was the best Maiden have sounded since like 2008.
Maiden sound great now and Bruce still hits all notes and sounds as good as ever (without Aces; let's hope it will maintain a decent level somehow), but let's not diminish the previous tours until 2018.

The current tour will be remembered as one of their best, in every way. Effects like during Rime and Hallowed are part of the key.
I'm not understanding all of these trolling comments at all.
I think it's normal to have some criticism. The fans just want 1-2 changes, especially Aces, which is one of their worst choices ever! It's like it almost spoils the set. We have the right. Change:

1) Aces - with Tailgunner (a NPFTD song, they didn't want Daughter for some reason) to keep the cool Spitfire video, or with Be Quick (more action for Janick; a slower song like Wasting Love could work there too).
2) Wasted Years (although it's an anthem) - with Sanctuary, Running Free or Prowler (a tribute to the early days)...

and that's it. Is that too much? To have a more unique (like every tour, and memorable, too) set. Come on. All big hits are there, without Evil. Save songs like Infinite, Land, Boots, etc for the next tour. All good. You can't help but enjoy this tour. It's a perfect Hits set, more or less. Add one or two Reunion era songs and it's the ultimate Maiden show.

Also, some of the ''complains'' about the stage show (like for me: clip for Number and no inflatable big Eddie) are normal too when they present something new. And because we know they can think of better things for some.
Loved the set but if I'm honest I prefer a mix of old and new. I missed a lot of the reunion classics so I hope it's not too long for a new record and tour.
This.
MITRM might be a brave choice for an opener but it doesn't work.
Murders is a surprising (to say, an early popular cut) opener for a ''50th anniv tour'', but it works given its structure. It's written to be an opener, although it's not on the album, perhaps because of its intro.

Another option could've been moving Aces High to the main set, but they really seem to like it in the encore.. sigh.

As for Wasted Years, I still kinda disagree. :p Running Free is fun, but I still take Wasted Years over it. Prowler would be cool, but I personally feel it more as "either way is fine" rather than it being a preference over Wasted Years.

But yeah, I think it's cool that they went with bit of a Maiden England type of setlist pace, which is positively unrelenting. The only stumble being the spot for Aces High...

The swap for me is Aces Mid-Height for either Tailgunner, BYDTTS or Running Free. That would make the set much better.

Wasted Years has become a massive singalong in recent times, has the right message and is the most accessible song from the catalogue for non-fans. As I said, even people, who I know, that don't like Maiden, like Wasted Years. Therefore, it deserves that spot.
