I wouldn't say that about Dave. All of Adrian's solos are great, Dave's CSIT/ATG/Prisoner/Hell On Earth is magical, Janick's melodic leads, the whole band is playing more than good this rare set (it's actually wow) - but Bruce is definitely the star.

This tour is one of my all time favorites.

Agreed. I think it's because it's the natural age for that. And they have personal lives after all. The band still sounds great live and Nicko deserves a praise for his playing. The fresh set definitely helps, like during TBOS tour. They'll play as long as possible.

That's the right approach. And some songs Bruce can pull off better if they're earlier in the set. I believe so. They should make it easier for Nicko, as much as possible.

I saw two unbelievable shows this tour - Newark and Baltimore. These were Maiden shows #30 and 31 for me since 1996 and honestly, they may have been my favorites of the entire lot.

I've known they were playing Caught Somewhere in Time, Stranger in a Strange Land and Alexander the Great now for well over a year and I STILL couldn't believe I was hearing them perform these songs in front of me. This tour really felt magical to me and a really well fleshed out idea based on the 5 SIT/5 Senjutsu songs premise.

Not to be a downer but this really highlighted how much I felt let down by the Maiden England 2012-2013 tour. TFP tour revisited SIT far better than the Maiden England tour revisited SSOASS. That tour, despite still being pretty amazing, really seems like one of their biggest missed opportunities.

My takeaway here is that I never thought the band would revisit the SIT era, and when they did there would be some kind of unforeseen compromises made in either the set list, performance or staging. I don't think that was the case here - they were phenomenal on both nights I saw them. To the point where the only thing I've really listened to since has been a mix of both Somewhere In Time and Senjutsu.

The ONLY time I noticed anything obvious with Nicko were the missing fills on The Trooper. Which, I can live with completely considering that was near the end of a grueling set of songs they either had never played before or hadn't played in years.

I really hope they document this well with a live album. Please no Nights of the Beast pt. 2.

I'm kind of bummed this tour is ending here soon but am looking forward to whatever they bring us next year!
 
Saw them Saturday in Fort Worth, really good show (saw it last year in Vancouver so no surprises) ... but a lot of fun and they sounded quite good. I will say I really enjoyed The Hu as well. I don't think I will rush out and buy their albums, but I would see them again. Interesting, different, and some clear talent and energy
 
I was also at the Ft Worth show!
Drove.from Houston and was my son's 2nd Maiden show and my 15th.

Really enjoyed it! The performance, production, & setlist were fantastic! My son is a guitarist and he was impressed with Janick's solo during Death of the Celts. He said it looked more difficult than Dave or Adrian's.

I saw the original SIT tour (my 1st Maiden show) and remember being disappointed they didn't play ATG. So to finally see ATG live was a dream come true! The title track and Stranger were just.bonuses!
I also really enjoyed Death of the Celts and The Prisoner.

Question: I don't remember Bruce wearing his neon jacket at this show. Did he wear it and I just missed it?

I also agree with @bearfan about The Hu. They were better than expected but I won't be getting into their music.

I agree about the ME tour in general, but I think SSOASS album was represented almost perfectly (minus Infinite Dreams, ofc). What a flow of the set though! More like they did not bring back some old songs (maybe they didn't want to copy the unique 2005 tour?), but I feel they didn't want to copy the original tour, thus making the set similar to SBIT tour. It was more like a continuation of it and we know that the ME tour wasn't planned in 2008, although it was the next concert video in line, like now is the 1992 one. LOTB tour was a better Hits tour overall - although they clearly wanted a Hits (not History) tour after the previous 2 busy album tours. That's why I'm curious what they'll do with the setllist for the new tour, because I know it's a celebration of Maiden's classics (not from the entire discography!), but I feel like the set should be special, not only the stage. And they could potentially bring back some of the then expected songs like Killers, Boots, Still Life, Infinite Dreams.

For ME tour:
They could have done:

  • playing the whole album, classic and a concept album.
  • 2008 was for Powerslave (big classic), 2012/2013 could have been a mix of SIT & SSOASS. Two special and experimental albums.
  • same tour but with a short 3rd leg on a 90's theme.
  • rarely played/deep cut songs from their entire career.

TFP is really a tour with one of their best mixes of new, old, rare and classic songs. At least for me.

Still not a bad show. Maybe its not like 99 to 2019. But ok,they are old,some of they have problems,nicko,bruce has changed a lot the moviments but a good show. I will not attend to 2025 tour and i missed this tour too. But still one of the best shows of metal bands. Check gnr,motley or wasp. Those are bad shows.
 
I really liked the Texas event shirts .. they are generally pretty good but this was one of the better ones. Wearing it as we speak actually
