"Imagine" (John Lennon) [7] vs. "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" (AC/DC) [135]

"Rock And Roll" (Led Zeppelin) [58] vs. "Jumpin' Jack Flash" (The Rolling Stones) [71]

"Crazy On You" (Heart) [282] vs. "Free Fallin'" (Tom Petty) [103]

"Let It Be" (The Beatles) [39] vs. "Bad To The Bone" (George Thorogood) [167]

One day left for Round 7
Also open: Round 8 , Round 9

My votes:

The lyrical messages in the first pair make an amusing contrast. "Imagine" is timeless, but the AC/DC tune is the one I've been covering in bands for the last 28 years. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
Second pair looks like a heavyweight, but I find the Stones to be a surprisingly easy choice. Jumpin' Jack Flash
The Heart song never stops being exciting. By comparison, "Free Fallin" has five great intro chords, and then goes splat. Crazy On You
This is the song where McCartney figured out how to do a sappy ballad right. Let It Be

"Hotel California" (The Eagles) [3] vs. "Johnny B. Goode" (Chuck Berry) [382]

"Space Oddity" (David Bowie) [62] vs. "Burnin' For You" (Blue Oyster Cult) [190]

"Roxanne" (The Police) [30] vs. "Smoke On The Water" (Deep Purple) [99]

"In The Air Tonight" (Phil Collins) [35] vs. "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" (Bob Dylan) [419]

Johnny B. Goode, even though I quite like Hotel California.

Burnin'!

dun dun dun, dun dun DE dun, dun dun den, den dun

Both great songs, but the drum fill gets it.

My votes:

Epic Eagles guitar solo wins over the Berry solo. Hotel California
BOC, easily. Burnin' For You
I vote for the song that name-drops Frank Zappa. Smoke On The Water
Drum fill. In The Air Tonight

Chuck Berry over The Eagles any day.
Can you hear me, Major Tom? 'Cause I'm burnin' for you! Ah well, "Space Oddity" gets my vote.
I also vote for the sole Zappa appearance in the game.
And for Dylan.

My votes:

It's a gas gas gas. Jumpin' Jack Flash
Heart is rippin', gotta give it to Crazy On You.
The coda clinches it. Layla
Lenny is the song I'd usually rather hear. Are You Gonna Go My Way
