1. Did he actually escape?
Yes.

[!--quoteo--][div class=\'quotetop\']QUOTE[/div][div class=\'quotemain\'][!--quotec--]2. If so, does his escape have to do with the quality of the environment, that is the cell itself?
Yes.

My first thought is that, if there are no doors or windows, the man couldn't get into the cell in the first place! /tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":P\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" /]

Hmmm. They could have walled him in, but maybe you're right /smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":)\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" /]
He was not walled in. But he was certainly and definitely in the cell.

Does the cell have a roof?
Yes. A nice stable roof made of iron.

niiice! Does this individual have outside assistance with his escape?

Are the walls made of a weak material (i.e. that could easily be dismantled/broken into or whatever by a man)?

Or, is he able to build a makeshift wall, from say his bed, to make the appearance of a wall and hide behind it?

But then again if there are no walls, the cell could be a dugout in the ground....hence he could dig through the side walls to escape! Could he?

None of it. The walls are made of solid titanium.

Thank God for that! And now we have another to challenge!

But we can assume he was "thrown in" via the roof?

No.

Do we need to know a little something of the properties of the material used to construct this cell in order to answer the question?

Does the way he got into the cell have any relevance here?

Were there any objects in the cell?

If so, did he use any to escape?

None at all.

A plastic bottle, a pillow and an old Bee Gees record.

By "gone" are you implying some form of intoxication?
Good thought. That was in fact the very first thing I came up with when I first heard the puzzle. But, no.

Has the reason that he's thrown in a cell and tried got anything to do with the fact that he could escape from this seemingly "unescapable" cell.

"thrown into" .... actually put in the cell, or thrown into the side of it perhaps?

[!--quoteo(post=131947:date=Mar 14 2006, 03:56 PM:name=national acrobat)--][div class=\'quotetop\']QUOTE(national acrobat @ Mar 14 2006, 03:56 PM) [/div][div class=\'quotemain\'][!--quotec--]
OK, there's no door, but is there a doorway?
That's it! /smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":)\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" /]

If there are no doors, how are they going to keep him locked in?

Does his being locked in and his escape have to do with the mind, or just the physical cell?

All physical. The guy was really put into a cell by other people. Retards, obviously, because they didn't build a door in. But the reasoning is not part of the riddle anymore.
