I think what he's getting at is that you talk about BNW and such like it's fact, when it's not. It seems a lot less...aggressive if you phrase things with saying, "With what I think are worse songs" etc. than "are worse songs".
Well - IMO- all the songs are not as good as they could have been. I feel that the songs were put together in a hurry. For the most part the drumming is quite basic (apart from the bass pedal).
I am afraid that each song has something that is really irritating and I just can't enjoy the album. I know other people think highly of this album.
I really think that for the most part the ideas are ok, but the arrangements and structures are just not so well thought out.
I really don't like a complete song in the album just bits and pieces like e.g the second half of TTLBLAH, most of The Fallen angel and most of the solos.
So I am sorry but I believe that BNW was a mediocre album
To me brave new world was so important and is loved for being a very solid album. But I think subconsciously it's still revered heavily because of it's place in Maiden history. Ie the reunion.
In contrast, to me anyway, DOD really cemented it's place in my heart and sole as the album that convinced me they were back to stay: it is the reunion album that is most "maiden!" And relies more on it's content than it's position in the bands history. Again, my opinion. I think If DOD followed POM and preceded PS, (and had better production) it would be considered a classic in the vane of the albums during that stretch more so than the other 3 reunion works would have..
No, but songs like Nomad, Dance of Death, Pachendale, Brighter Than A thousand Suns, The Pilgrim, Lord Of Light, Coming Home, The Talisman definitely can!Are you sure that songs like The wildest dreams, No more lies, Age of Innocence, New Frontier could be considered pillars of Iron Maiden's discography?
That's contradictory given that I've seen loads calling Powerslave as Fillerslave and diminishing pearls such as Quest For Fire, Sun And Steel, Flash Of The Blade, The Duellists and Back In The Village even affirming they're disposable, which then, they seem to be no better than the songs mentioned on the previous post.
Gates Of Tomorrow and Age Of Innocence are really great songs.

There's stinkers on every album, I think, except maybe SSOASS, but even SSOASS has 2 less-loved songs (and yes, SIT wankers, Deja Vu is not a good song, not anywhere close to it).
One of their best idea instead. Finally a complete new stelist, did you really want to listen the evil that man do again?
They played The Evil That Men Do on the AMOLAD tour
That's great that you feel that way, but the overall forum rankings find that each of those albums have at least one song in the bottom 5th, except Powerslave.I found no stinkers on Killers, PoM, Powerslave, SiT and 7th. And Deja-Vu is indeed not a good song, it is a great song.
Agreed. Dance is my favorite reunion album, and possibly in my top 3 Maiden overall.I swear to god it seems people put down songs on DOD because they feel it's popular opinion or something! I don't get it. The more I listen the more I love that album.
I've been a lifelong fan of maiden. When the reunio/bnw popped I was stoked. When DOD dropped, maiden was maiden again. And the next two albums continued the as* kicking. Opinions. I know. But wow I don't hear bad songs at all on DOD .i hear pure Maiden. Easily comparable to the 80's stuff. Amolad as well. As good and at times better than the old....
