USA Politics

Pretty sure Trump doesn't believe in any of it. I doubt Vance does either, and if he does, his version feels like an obscene parody.
Who cares what they actually spiritually believe in that regard - and I agree that Trump is no more Christian than I am. What matters is, however, that events are proceeding towards that end, where church and religion are increasingly more intertwined with society, contrary to the principle of separation of church and state. Republicans aren't very shy about that they want to establish a Christian Nationalist state.

... Which, as I see it, isn't too far off from the Taliban, where too the basis for government is religion. .

Why are you sticking to this falsehood? As per CNN and many other news sources, the killer's own mother is recorded in court documents stating that he had 'become more political and started to lean more to the left - becoming more pro-gay and trans-rights oriented'.
Left of MAGA is probably still right of centre, to be fair ...
Am I the only person that finds the extreme religiosity in the US REALLY fucking weird?

I see so much of it in Republican politics "Trumps chosen by god to save America" "Charlie is with Jesus now" etc.
For them it's not just some nice fluffy thing to say. The truly believe that this stuff is actually real. It's really concerning seeing that level of belief in fairy tales not just in the general public, but in some of the most important positions of power in the country.
The disturbing thing is that they seem to be claiming some sort of special authority for themselves based on it. Trump thinks he "rules by divine right", an idea that was discarded along with Charles I's head over here.

Please don't confuse this with real Christianity though ;)

Show me a Conservative politician and I'll show you someone weaponizing religion for their own personal gain.

Oh, you’ve already handled that quite predictably from your end, along with a spew of new and old regurgitated bullshit that has already been refuted.

I’ve already taken the measure of your “character” and found it to be sorely lacking. Thanks for almost single-handedly ruining this forum for everyone else.
I'm struggling to figure out how you (and one or two others) think that Vaenyr was spewing bs for using the best publicly available information to draw a conclusion (about the shooter) but are happy to give Detective a free pass despite them screeching that the killer was "far-left" mere moments after it happened and while Charlie Kirk's body was still warm.

You’re struggling because I didn’t actually do that. Other people had already commented on the far left angle and I didn’t have anything else to add.

And when “the best publicly available information” is a single non-news magazine citing something as speculation with no credible news organizations running with the story, I’m sorry, but that’s not good enough.
