- if you watch the video, at 12:01 exactly, the Secret Service agents switch their focus from Bush to Obama.

The not-so-secret service since you noticed :p

Let's hope it goes well, and that he lives to see his second term.

My mom bitchslapped me two days ago for saying that...

Ha, my mom said she wasn't going to watch the inauguration because it wasn't important. I almost bitchslapped her over the phone.

My favourite part was when Bush was coming down the steps, you could hear, floating over the crowd....
"Nah-nah-nah nah, nah-nah-nah nah, hey hey hey...goodbye!"

Yeah, cause my country is now like a college basketball game... and people wonder why I didn't bother showing up and freezing my ass off there yesterday.

Well, let's be honest.  Mr. Bush wasn't exactly liked by a significant portion of the populace.  I can appreciate not wanting to bother going, but I thought the way by which Obama treated Bush was rather an inspiration, and it reminded me of a quote...

"In victory, magnaminity."

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong here LC, in this instance I am not sick with the politicians, just some of my fellow countrymen.

There's people on all sides (note I don't just say both sides).  People pissed at Bush for any number of things, die-hard Hillary fans pissed at Obama, gays pissed at Obama...but no matter what you do, you can't make everyone happy.

That's for sure. I just get upset with how some people behave sometimes. I think it's just the military vice "normal" people mentality.

I've heard my dad espouse on that a couple times.  I guess that since Mr. Bush was on the way out, was there really a need to taunt him one last time?  Possibly not, but there are a lot of people who feel a lot of real relief.

True.

And, you are both correct; whatever anyone may think about Bush, the man deserves some respect for being the nation's leader the last 8 years.

He deserves the respect any president should get - from Grant to Washington to FDR to Lincoln.  It doesn't mean we have to like what he's done, or respect all of his decisions.

Big changes from Obama already, too, through executive orders and such...Gitmo to halt military court proceedings, a new aim in the Middle East, meetings with Petraeus...
