USA Politics

Wargaming LLC had an action going for about two months - fund raising for USS Texas. Through their World of Warships game, where USS Texas is represented as a premium boat.

USS Texas is flooding after damage from recent hurricanes. We have been blown away by the EU players' outcry for action across the WoWS forum, Twitter and Facebook. United with our American friends, let's pull together our resources and keep her afloat through Wargaming’s Project VALOR (Veterans And Loved Ones Responsibility) Campaign!

You buy Texas in game now, and all money goes to Texas BB Foundation. Preliminary results show about $250.000 collected worldwide. I chipped in $30. Since I already had the boat, I got the awesome lone star camo and some in-game currency as return.

Breaking News: Donald Trump is an idiot who has no fucking clue what he's doing and might get us all killed.

You decide what I'm referring to.

What's up with that? Haven't heard news in 2 days...only the Jerusalem bit

Nothing in particular, I just felt like posting a universal headline after this Jerusalem thing. Thought it would be fun to look back in a week and be able to attach ten more news stories to it.

That's the thing with Trump, he does so much shit, it's hard to track anymore. Judging by the U.S. social media (eg. Reddit), the anti-Trumpers are still pushing hard on the Russian deals and possible impeachment, the Trumpers are trying to brigade them, a lot less "effort" is dedicated to current foreign policy issues. It is a completely valid tactic for someone that thinks Trump is spinning the media. If he isn't then we (the rest of the world) have a problem. Still I'm leaning a lot more to the spin-side, he has something to be afraid of in the "Russian case" for sure.

What's he doing about internal policy at the moment? Anything at all, or is it just not as contentious as the international headline-seeking?

I hate Intifadas. A lot of innocent people die in the Middle East, and in the west people fight a trench war over the moral high ground.

Palestinians recognize Texas as part of Mexico

JERUSALEM – In response to US President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the Israeli capital, the Palestinian National Authority has announced that it will recognize Texas as a state of Mexico since it was violently annexed by the United States in the 1840s.

“The territory north and east of the Rio Grande is very important to the Mexican people,” explained a PNA spokesperson. “Before American settlers showed up and implemented slavery, Mexico oversaw this land. Then, President Polk sent his armies to invade the rest of these Mexican territories, and force the country to give up California, New Mexico, most of Arizona, Nevada, and Utah, and parts of Wyoming and Colorado. We may soon recognize these states as part of Mexico too.”

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas says that this is a new approach to Mexican-US relations, and hopes it will help ease the tension between the two countries over security and immigration.

“We understand that the Mexican state of Texas is a sacred place for many large-buckled Americans, but they can rest assured that a two-state solution or a wall was not feasible,” explained Abbas.

“Besides, most people in Texas speak Spanish.”

The Palestinian consulate in Mexico City will soon be moved to Houston to formally recognize the seized territory as part of Mexico.

At press time, President Trump hopes that his recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital will offer a new path for Middle East violence.

I think it would be great if this actually was the Palestinian response. I would certainly sympathise with that. Sadly, the actual response is a call for jihad and violence.

Would have been easier to list the 10 that did not vote for it (or were absent)
Edit: I see nobody voted against it .. just 10 no votes

Me thinks this is about physically moving the embassy, not about the political statement.

Doug Jones, a Democrat, won what should’ve been a safe senate seat in deep red Alabama against an alleged child molester. Incredible.
