USA Politics

All of this is making me wonder who the most corrupt presidents are, and where Trump/Hillary will compare on the list.

Some people say Trump is corrupt - I don't know. I mean, I've heard it but... I can tell you it's a pretty strong word, corrupt. I have the best words. Is Trump a word? Just saying, the second amendment... You guys know about it. That's all I'm saying. In November, we'll have Trump - or we won't. But it's a long way till November, I can tell you that. Who knows what'll happen until then?

Either of them have an excellent chance to take the top spot
I don't know about that. There were some pretty corrupt presidents - Grant generally tops that list, but the political machines of the 19th and early 20th centuries were nothing but voter fraud en masse. Look at Rutherford (Rutherfraud) B. Hayes, or even Kennedy.

Like anything, you have to compare it to the era ... I think that sort of stuff was just how the game was played ... and it is certainly still played that way. Also factor in the federal government and its reach is much larger now than it was then

I forgot who said it, but someone said, with a couple of exceptions, whenever the presidential campaign trail is centred around one candidate instead of both, that candidate usually goes onto lose. And right now, this is Donald Trump's election.

Certain politicians were very uncorrupt in those periods of time. Some of them even won elections. I'm not saying to give them a free pass, but to recognize that even for his era Grant was corrupt.

New polls:

Texas: Trump 46%, Clinton 35% (Dixie Strategies)
Colorado: Clinton 41%, Trump 29%, Johnson 15%, Stein 6% (NBC/Marist)
Florida: Clinton 41%, Trump 36%, Johnson 9%, Stein 4% (NBC/Marist)
North Carolina: Clinton 45%, Trump 36%, Johnson 9%, Stein 2% (NBC/Marist)
Virginia: Clinton 43%, Trump 31%, Johnson 12%, Stein 5% (NBC/Marist)

Looks like Clinton is starting to pull away in the swing states.

OK, so first Trump hammers in the message that Obama and HRC founded a certain Islamic terrorist organization - and when he receives flak for it he says he was being sarcastic.

This man is just so full of shit, I still wonder if he's being an idiot on purpose ...

I mean, talking in big words is obviously his style and that's on purpose - but is he also being an idiot on purpose?

Clinton should be leading the polls by 80-20. The fact she isn't, is telling. Part of me still thinks that we will wake up some day and realize this election campaign is just a silly dream.

Question to you who are up to date on this election. When the T-man encourages his followers in Pennsylvania to pay extra attention to potential election fraud, what is it that makes him single out that particular state? Has anything special happened there lately?

Pennsylvania used to be a swing state and it has a decent population of Trump voters who are pretty intense. He draws huge crowds there from the old steelworker class. It's also geographically very close to New York, and Trump had promised at one point to win all three states in the Tri-State area - New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

It also has 19 votes in the Electoral College, making it a top 10 player. And finally...Hillary is winning there by over 10 points.

I think he's just preparing for losing. In November he can claim that he knew all along that the election was being rigged and nobody did anything to stop it.

Voting fraud happens for sure but not really on a level that would affect the presidential election...

...because the illuminati has already picked the next president.

In the USA, voting fraud is a non-existent problem, something around a handful of ballots in the larger states per election, or several orders of magnitude below 0.01% of all ballots cast. That's why the US courts are overturning voter ID laws as unnecessary and disenfranchising.

Part of his strategy seems to be nurturing the opinion that a certain section of the population is badly done to and disenfranchised, encouraging suspicion about the conduct of a political elite he's not part of. He's selling himself as the uniquely honest/straight talking politician.

So does Evan McMullin stand a chance of denting a hole in Trump's campaign or will he just be another sideshow to the big two?

Zero chance ... the only other candidate with even a remote (very remote) chance is Johnson ... he is at 10% in the polls they are using to determine who will be in the debate .. he needs to get to 15 (though I assume if he hits something like 14.75 or something close, they will let him in).

His only minimal chance is to get into the debates, lots of people will watch (at least the first one) and see what scumbags Clinton and Trump are.

Shame. If I was a US voter, I would like to hear from a broader debate than just GOP v Dems.
