UK Politics

This is outrageous...

Yes, I've heard about a girl who was locked in the airport waiting for a statement of the spanish embassy. After 2 days there, all she wanted was come back to Spain. It's outrageous yep, it's not typical of a country like UK. EU and UK must be fix all of disagreements between each other. At the end the citizens are the victims as always.

An interesting read of how UK university academics specialising in British politics and contemporary British history rank the post-war UK Prime Ministers. Unsurprisingly, Theresa May and David Cameron do not fare well at all (The BreXit Factor; the Iron Maiden album Bruce wishes he had taken part in).

Disclaimer: Academics do not tend to vote Conservative, but the rankings are quite interesting if you are into UK history.

Bruce's still trying to defend his Brexit position.

What a muppet. His comparison with changing operating system is quite idiotic; we are talking about people whose businesses and livelihoods have been severely affected by this Tory folly.

Who knows? He might change his mind if any of his EU relatives start to experience the hostile environment fuelled by the Home Office...

Oh thank goodness, the return of imperial measures. So much easier to learn your 16 times table than to get your head around things in 10s, kids will finally be thrashed into learning about rods, poles and perches as they should, and it'll be such a relief to see non-taxpaying market traders go back to selling their tomato's and sox's per lb again outside in the rain.

A pint beats 1/2 l anytime, that's all I know.

Pints and miles never went away. What changed was that food and consumer goods packaging was required to have metric weight of the product printed on it, and traders selling loose food or goods made to order had to state price per weight or size in metric (although they could still sell good by imperial measures, they were just supposed to convert it to metric too). It's all flag waving PR by the one trick pony party.

Brexit having gone through and all, I hope we (Sweden) negotiate a new customs free trade deal again soon. And the UK is my number one choice of traveling abroad, so that too.

Since Sweden is in the Schengen Area, wouldn't the broader community be responsible for any access agreements?
