I'm really annoyed about that. England were all set up to lose on penalties to Portugal on Monday, then Iceland screwed that up. I was looking forward to my trip to the bookies on Sunday to put £2 on it. To make matters worse, I managed to miss the Hungary-Portugal match - the best of the tournament so far! Now after everyone laughing at Ronaldo he's gone and scored two goals, just one off being joint top scorer.

I hope Ibrahimovic scores tonight as Sweden are going out and it will be his final international match.

I'm not even particularly mad. Hearing the "Ya Allah, Bismillah, Allahuekber" chants put me off of supporting the team fully.

Reflection of the political state of the country.

These guys were there all along. But they only became loud, confident and obnoxious with the rise of Islamists. And by "there" I don't just mean the stadiums. I mean the entire country.

We had really good teams in 2002 and 2004 as well. I remember we had a shot that hit the post right before Senegal scored in the '02 round of 16. If that goes in, we would have played Turkey in the quarters and that's anybody's game. Could have won another bronze medal. In 2004 we lost on penalties against... well, you probably remember.
 
Isaksson and Källström won a bunch of titles with Djurgården, so they'll always be legends in my book.
 
Oh wow, Wales vs. Northern Ireland in the second round. A local derby!

The draw looks set for a Croatia vs. Belgium semi-final, although if Portugal turn up against Croatia they could spoil that. The bottom half of the draw is full of contenders. Germany should play the winner of Spain vs. Italy and the other quarter-final should be France vs. England.
