It's funny - I have always been a huge fan of the Rainmaker solo, but now I found out it's not as good on its own and I need the context of the song to enjoy it fully. So my vote goes to Stranger in the end.
 
Sure, SIASL is a slightly better solo but I think Rainmaker deserved to be among TOP 8 Maiden solos. I am sure it would've gone through against most of other solos...
Anyways, SIASL gets my vote.
 
I guess I never realized how many great solos were on that album. As it stands right now, 6 of the top 8 solos will be from Somewhere In Time, with one battle left to play this round.

There were a few other solos that have been eliminated already from different albums I believe should have made it this far, but I still can't complain about the ones that are here.

FOTD because it's a real solo and because I think it's not fair keeping SW in the game while Prodigal Son solo was eliminated. (PS>SW)
 
FotD. I have this weird feeling that SW pretends to be better than it actually is... if that makes any sense.
 
Mirtilo, maybe I shouldn't count your vote?

Please compare these two solos. Leave out all the (anti-)bias and other distractions.

And for the record: SW is a solo.
