Top 10 albums since the beginning of the new millennium

Hard. My list would probably be something like the following:
  • Ahab - The Call of the Wretched Sea
  • Sabaton - Carolus Rex
  • Iron Maiden - The Book of Souls
  • Buckethead - Bermuda Triangle
  • Alestorm - Sunset on the Golden Age
  • Blaze - Silicon Messiah
  • Amputated - Wading Through Rancid Offal
  • Green Day - American Idiot
  • Eminem - The Marshall Mathers LP
  • Inhumano - Torturas de Almos Oscuras

Really? Of all the albums released in the past 18 years... Redeemer Of Souls?????

Why man, ROS is a great album. It is better than AOR and Nostradamus IMO. As you can see, I'm a fan of the old school heavy metal bands.

No way it's better. It has the worst guitar sound of all Judas Priest albums and one of the worst for bigger bands ever. And the songs are mostly hard rock shite. Nostradamus and AoR wipe the floor with it, even Firepower which I don't rate too high either.

I realy like redeemer of souls. I also don't like the guitar sound but that's almost irrelevant (I'd rather have good music with poor production than the other way around). Now Angel Of Retribution is, IMO, clearly their best album since the reunion. When it comes to Nostradamus I agree. By far their poorest album since Rob came back.

To each his own. The production on ROS is not so great like on Firepower (where is perfect), but it has a lot of good songs, and some fillers too.

Nostradamus should have been 8-10 or 13 songs. AOR is half good, half bad. I rank Firepower only behind immortal classics like DOTF and Painkiller.

FTFY. :p

Nah! Firepower is a great album too but there's something special about AOR (and I kinda disagree with you. I think all the songs are good with the exception of Lochness... that chorus is utter crap)
As for Nostradamus it features a handful of good songs (Pestilence And Plague, Conquest, Persecution, Alone and Visions) and some decent ones (title track, War, Death and Revelation). The rest of the album is boring as hell (Rock Operas aren't quite Judas Priest's A game). Perhaps if the record was only composed by those tracks and the interludes I would dig it a whole lot more.

Now when it comes to my favorite Priest albums it goes like this:

1- Painkiller/Sad Wings Of Destiny
2- Stained Class/ Screaming For Vengeance/ Defenders Of The Faith
3- Angel Of Retribution/ Jugulator
4- British Steel/ Firepower/ Sin After Sin
5- Killing Machine/ Redeemer Of Souls
6- Ram It Down/ Point Of Entry
... about all the remaining records, I don't even consider them to be Priest (a handful of good songs though)

Yeah, a horrible mix of generic or repetitive grandpa metal, cringy rap rock, pop punk, and radio metal.

I'll try to keep it to 1 album per artist:
  • Alter Bridge - Blackbird

Need to listen to more modern music then I'll make a proper list...

Diesel needs his list fix. If it doesn't come fast enough then he could die!
