Anyway. Maiden have now arrived in Beijing.
Different scenario, they dropped it because some fans boo the waving of the flag during Trooper and Bruce made a comment along the lines of 'we wont play what we usually play cos of how some people react.' He didnt seem impressed. so it wasnt replaced to make a statement and basically punish the boo boys. They dropped The Trooper in Belfast in 2011 and didn't replace it.
I agree. However, my point is that Maiden have dropped songs before without bothering to replace them. We'll see what they decide on.Different scenario, they dropped it because some fans boo the waving of the flag during Trooper and Bruce made a comment along the lines of 'we wont play what we usually play cos of how some people react.' Cant go punishing Chinese fans because of their government!
Objectively, this is a convenient fit indeed. However, I feel that much less "happens" during this song.I'm still betting in Brave New World as Powerslave's replacement. Same lenght, similar style
It would not be Maiden's style, but suffice to call it "instrumental" on the setlist, and here you go!An obvious joke, but Im assuming 'Genghis Khan' didnt make the approved list for china?......
Talk about one hell of a downgrade!According to Setlist.fm, they replaced Powerslave with The Wicker Man. No other changes.

I'm sorry, but anyone who believes The Wicker Man > Powerslave is just plain wrong.
They're still playing Powerslave according to this Instagram post.

They didn't use any pyros and Bruce didn't use the Union Jack flag during The Trooper... It seems these were the only changes.
